The Dukes and Dutchess of Nuke 'Em

, , , , , ,

So much for diplomatic relations! Hillary Clinton sure has a knack for pissing people off, doesn't she? She's done it again during an interview with Good Morning America, promising to "obliterate" Iran should Tehran develop a nuclear weapon and use it against Israel. See full article HERE.

What is most disturbing, is that many of her supporters are blindly following her campaign and still argue in her defense that she is anti-war. "Obliteration," to me, is not anti-war speak. It comes with no surprise that her opponent, Barack Obama, is on board with the same rhetoric. In a recent statement, he said the use of military force against Iran should not be taken off the table. However, on his campaign website, he offers this little tidbit:

Regional Diplomacy

Obama will launch the most aggressive diplomatic effort in recent American history to reach a new compact on the stability of Iraq and the Middle East. This effort will include all of Iraq’s neighbors — including Iran and Syria. This compact will aim to secure Iraq’s borders; keep neighboring countries from meddling inside Iraq; isolate al Qaeda; support reconciliation among Iraq’s sectarian groups; and provide financial support for Iraq’s reconstruction.

And not to leave McCain out of the mix, we all remember the "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb...Bomb, Bomb Iran," gaffe. In case you missed it:

I guess we can all count on an endless war in the middle east. For a country with a 70% anti-war population, we sure don't mind throwing our support behind the warlords. Ironic, eh?

One more thing, I almost forgot. In a very unscientific poll on MSN, the question read:

Which of these candidates would best handle the tense U.S. relationship with Iran?

Out of 12080 responses (at the time), here are the results:

Hillary Clinton: 46%
John McCain: 11%
Barack Obama: 40%
Not Sure: 2%

There are a lot of uninformed survey takers out there, aren't there?

It's probably just senility. He thought he was singing "row row row your boat..."
