The attached submission outlines serious flaws in the Shire's draft Housing Strategy.

The Shire's Strategy unnecessarily weakens environmental controls in the townships of the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley.

These changes represent the most significant downgrading of residential planning controls within the past twenty years for the Dandenong Ranges.

The submission provides an alternative approach to addressing future housing challenges and opts for building stronger community engagement in the debate while avoiding the current adversarial approach.
