Showing appreciation

, ,

Have you ever recieved a note of gratitude?
What a great feeling wake inside us! That kind of expression warms our heart and life. I think we are made for showing appreciation.

To give thanks makes deeper the bonds between friends, family members and other relationships. I like to express that, and must confess, it feels excellent inside when I contemplate that single word, with a smile makes good in others. Obviously, I feel the same when I recieve that expressions. I think I'm blessed for having friends who often send me messages to give thanks, to show their love and express how much appreciate something of me. That feeds my need of doing the same, and then becomes a cycle that gets stronger.

It's a pity that kind expressions seems to be rare today in many cases. That people are missing a nice feeling in their lives.

What about you? Do you express appreciation? To whom? How important is in your life?

Great weekend in Punta del Este [photos]

, , ,

Last weekend was with 3 free days. Yesterday was the Independence Day. So we had extra free time. On sunday we organized a climbing to Pan de Azúcar, the highest hill of Piriápolis, with 500mts. But the day started raining, and it could be too dangerous to climb the rocks. But Monday was OK and some friend invited us to go to Punta del Este. That city is 40kmt. from Piriápolis, where we live. Is an important city for tourism, and is visited from many tourist of South-America in summertime. Our city is prefered to "relax vacations", and comes people from many sites of America, too. (It's nice to make friends from around the world in summertime).

We took the long way, all along the shore. That made us contemplate nature. And we found whales! They came in this part of the year to reproduce and give birth. Amazing animals!

In Punta del Este we went to the mall, my wife's delirium  and a flash-visit to Conrad Hotel to visit some areas. No time for Casino, no enough money in our pockets

Finally, we returned home and I cooked some fried cakes, to eat with fruit tea.

We forgot the rain of sunday, and enjoyed a lot this monday.

Good news!

Some minutes ago, my niece told me that tomorrow my father will be back home. This is a great thing. I don't know details too, but it seems doctors made all the exams to study the best treatment. I'm happy for my father and for my mum, coz she was missing him a lot, for a week far from us...

We'll organize a meeting with some close friends to recieve him at home.

Happy!!

y se viene la nostalgia... [esp]

, , , ...

3- Y no podía faltar. Tal vez la canción más hueca es de esas que no se nos va a olvidar jamás. Y hasta he escuchado que estan por lanzar o producir una nueva versión para estas nuevas generaciones. En fin, Macarena...

¡Que tengan lindos recuerdos!

Some spanish words [eng]

, , ,

Yesterday some comments of Linh (http://my.opera.com/brokenheartvn) made me laugh, but at the same time, consider I'm a bad student. Once I told her I'd like to learn some of vietnamese, and she gave me a huge help. Some days ago, I just could say Chào to begin a comment, and after that, I see I'm not diligent, as she told me with smiles :d

Well, I love languages, but my time is my enemy. I finish late, and have lots of things to study for my work. But I still want to have time to learn not just vietnamese, but other languages.

For those who don't use spanish, and want to know some words, here goes my little list of words to give my poor help. I will use english as source, for understood reasons.

The same road

, ,

One of the feelings that awakes everytime I log in Opera, is the one related to not-being alone. Sometimes comes to my mind the idea that somewhere, perhaps never knowing exactly where, there's a friend or someone I know, living, knowing me, sharing experiences here.

And it's more special when the other one is conected, is Online. At that moment, I think there are no frontiers, no limits or lines that separe us, because the simple fact of being conected at the same time to the same line is like share the same road, for a while.

Once again I must say, thanks for sharing this steps all along this road. And it's a pleasure to be here.

Bye Bye [esp-eng]

, , , ...

Chatting with Mauricio (http://my.opera.com/mrmxo/blog) a moment ago, I've remember soma songs from close of my country, in this week of memories.

Today morning I listened to Vilma Palma e Vampiros, from Argentina, and one of their songs: Bye, Bye carried me so far from my place. How I loved that song!

Today is raining here since early in the morning, too slow, but rain after all. and the mix of rain and oldies is making me fade...

Enjoy this with me...

News before weekend

Hi, friends!
I'm leaving the institute this night, and finishing my work for today. Today was a very busy day. I was nervous this evening because my father, but it was good news, not bad after all.
My father has a problem in his spine, it seems a common problem in my family, because some uncles and aunts have the same problem. He will go to the hospital tomorrow in Montevideo, and perhaps he will be there some days to complete some studies to resolve his problem. You see, it's a good thing, because he has been a long time waiting for solve this. The only bad thing is that his back hurts a lot. Times passes, and when I look my parents I see how much the things changes in time. But this is a great opportunity to be with them, and support them.

I send my hugs to all of you. Hope a nice weekend for you, all my friends!

Julieta Venegas: MTV espectacular [esp]

, ,

Update:

Tornado in Florida [eng]

, ,

Florida is a "state" of Uruguay (we name Department to the states). I was born in a small city of Florida.
Yesterday, TV news gave the information about a hard storm there, in fact an ice storm. It destroyed lots of farms, houses. Luckily it hurt nobody, but people says it was very hard. I saw the pics, and it was really hard: even the roads were full of ice, something that never happens in Uruguay.

It seems it happened not just in Florida, but in others departaments like Paysandú and San José.

Once I posted about Climate, and it seems it still comes to mind. But as one woman told in the TV, people was helpful, and they gave a hand each other. (visit http://my.opera.com/pbuydid/blog/2008/07/23/clima-climate-esp-eng )
