Hoy, 5 de octubre de 2009, se procedió a realizar la inauguración del nuevo Aeropuerto internacional de Carrasco, una obra muy importante y llamativa en nuestro entorno. Esta nueva terminal que reemplaza a la antigua terminal aérea, no solo presenta un diseño de avanzada, sino que provee los servicios a la altura de los principales aeropuertos del mundo, comparables a los de Paris y Londres, según se comentó a través de las fuentes invitadas al evento.
Permitirá el aterrizaje de aeronaves de gran porte de la actualidad. En cuanto al diseño, trata de presentar líneas curvas que evocan a la suave ondulación del territorio uruguayo. Pensado para aprovechar al máximo la luz ambiental, presenta amplios vidriados. Como dato curioso, a pesar de su gran dimensión, más de 45.000 metros², no posee una sola columna, siendo realizada la cúpula mediante una impresionante armazón estructural.

Las obras comenzaron hace 3 años, y con un presupuesto de 165 millones de dólares, nos permiten hoy presentar esta moderna terminal al mundo.

El portal Observa comenta que "según fuentes del aeropuerto, el nuevo edificio tiene una capacidad para transportar unos tres millones de pasajeros al año y cumple con las exigencias de vuelo de todas las aerolíneas internacionales.

Así, cuenta con ocho puertas de embarque, cuatro de ellas equipadas con mangas telescópicas, además de 32 puestos de facturación y tres cintas de recogida de equipajes.
Junto a esto, también hay una gran terraza mirador, con vistas a las pistas de despegue y un estacionamiento con capacidad para 1.200 vehículos, además de cafeterías, salas VIP y un área comercial libre de impuestos de 3.000 metros cuadrados que será cuando entre en funcionamiento "la más grande de Suramérica", dijeron fuentes del aeropuerto."

Además de esta impresionante obra, es de destacar otras obras que giran en torno a esta, como la remodelación de los accesos, en toda la zona perimetral, incluyendo nuevos puentes y vías de acceso, y la planificación de una ruta rápida para acceder desde Montevideo.

New Carrasco International Airport.

Today, 5 October 2009, was performed the inauguration of the new International Airport of Carrasco, a very important work, eye-catching in our environment. The new terminal replaces the old airport, not only presents an advanced design, but provides services to the level of the main airports of the world, comparable to Paris and London, as told through the news-sources invited to the event.
It will allow the landing of large scale aircrafts of today. Regarding the design, the airport presents curved lines that evoke the gentle undulation of the Uruguayan territory. Designed to maximize ambient light, has wide glazes. The quarterfinals, despite its large size, over 45,000 m2, it has no columns, being conducted by an impressive dome structural frame.

The works began 3 years ago, and with a budget of $ 165 million, Uruguay can present this modern terminal to the world.

This september we spent our spring vacations at Dayman Thermals. It was the first time we visited that wonderful place. So relaxing...
Imagine it as a little city, where you can find anything you need for vacations. Of course, hotels and restaurants are everywhere, but you can also find souvenirs shops, transport, information centers, etc.
Our vacations were different, because we took time to visit many places: the pools (with really hot water!!), the pools of the hotel (they have the same kind of thermal waters), the city of Salto, its shopping center, the harbour, we visited Concordia (Argentina) beautiful too!.

I posted some pics of the travel. They are here. I recommend that place for great vacations. And... my wife and I became like "experts" so, we can tell you more if you are planning vacations in Uruguay.

There's a grey color that always follow me through the road
and I can't make it change to shine on me.
There's a silent mood that always gets inside my veins
to hurt so deep and never give up until left me in this state I'm in.

I have tried to take another road to avoid its presence
but it's clever than me, and finds the way to invade me again;

and I have to go to nowhere.

Just because there's a grey color that keeps on following me through this road,
a silent mood that keeps on coming inside my veins
and I can't shake my worst things that live inside my soul
that hurt so deep as to drive me to a repeated state of myself.

Must say this is not a bad winter at all. In fact, right now the sun is shining, and although is cold oudoors, I'm enjoying the heat of the burning woods at home, a cup of coffee and chocolate ( :yes ). Things in my life are OK, and nothing seems to put my feelings at risk

Anyway, the begining of wintertime is always a change of many things. Not just the season, but the feelings that are living inside of me, as much of us. I almost forgot the begining of wintertime, but finally it came, in a nice day (cold was not a problem until the sun was heating us).
I was coming back home in the bus, quite tired, with my feelings in nowhere, and a strange mood. Then I arrived home, turned on the TV and there it was: a program I use to follow, about health. And that day was about SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and bipolarity. Some years ago, after some consults and visits to some doctors, I found I have a mix of those disorders, but luckily, not so deep as to "collapse". Anyway I have to take care of myself, being in places with bright light, avoid listening to sad or slow music (my wife cares about what I listen to, new age and Moby is not allowed on present days), and take good rests.

After I knew about that syndrome, I learned to fight it. Since then, I always try to show the best face, and I use to say I'm OK, even when I feel broken inside. I don't deny smiles, because I want to give the best to other people around me, everybody has their own problems, and I never want to put more problems to their lives. Of course, there are days, usually when there are more than 2 days without sun, when I don't want to see anybody, don't want to talk and just want to be at home. In other ways, I see it's difficult to deal with common activities, and complete tasks. At this point, I want to say I'm sorry, because last days I've been far from Opera and other social-sites, no photos uploaded, no post... I had lazy days... but I hope to post something else from now (right now I feel well ).

Many times before I wanted to give more information about SAD and related syndromes. Today I found 2 sites with good information. One of them is a comercial site, but it offers a good point to start. I want to share with you that information.

I wish a nice winter for everybody... I'll try to follow that words too
