El asado más grande del mundo

, , , , , ,

Yes, it is about food. Uruguay made the biggest "asado" of the world last sunday, to entry in the Giness book. We call "asado" to one of our tipical meals, and the place where this was made was 1500 mts long.

I'll translate the article for you later. I have to travel in few minutes.

Hugs!

Linh: I promised to translate the post. I had poor time last days, but here it is:

The next one April 13, Uruguay will try to enter to the Guiness book of the Records for the bigger roasted meat. One of the main Uruguayan products is the meat and as attractiveness, the traditional roasted meat to the grill. This way, it is tried to reinforce the trade of this product to the exterior.

In an Uruguayan page I found something of information first hand, which I include next:

"By means of raffle 626 couples of spits selected and each one will receive a number corresponding to the location of their position in the grill-of 1.500 meters long, located in the central rotation of the Rural one of the "Rural del Prado" (the location) -. Americo Saura, one of the selected "parrilleros" (cookers), dialogued with Index 810 and it counted the following thing: "I am rural person. I am here for the circumstances of the life. I was born and I raised myself in the fields, that is to say that for that work of roasting, more or less, one is practical, a lifetime making that, because we like it, for amusement and I don't know what benefit there is, but with benefit or without him we go equally."

On the polemic of the coal or the firewood, Americo Saura said: "The objective is one and it depends on many things, mainly what a type of roasted will make, what firewood we will have. There is infinity of details. I would prefer firewood, because the coal releases gas. The coal is to make in a house, in an apartment, with a stove and a grill. But I would prefer firewood, like "coronilla" or "talas"."

To reach the objective, of roasting 12.000 kilos of meat , each spit will have to make between eight and 10 meat kilos.

Also, each person that enters to the property of the Rural "El Prado", with their entrance, will be able to consent to taste a piece of the "Biggest Roasted Meal of the World". This will be April 13 and until the moment some 6.400 entrances were sold. It cost 60 pesos (about 3 dollars), as long as smaller than 12 years, accompanied, they pay 30 pesos. The record of bigger roasted meat of the world is in the power of Hermosillo, town of Mexico."

For my part, good appetite!!

So proud for being in touch with people from Portugal! I like meeting people from all the world.

Asado is typical here, and our diet has lots of meat! Well, I don't like a lot meat, just a bit. But when there is a party or a meeting of friends... probably we'll eat asado

Welcome to this blog, Zé.
(Luckily we can use english. Even when I live near a country that uses portuguese, I'm not good writing or speaking that language, sorry)
