Comienzo de clases.
En Uruguay las clases inician este año el 2 de marzo, dependiendo del nivel de enseñanza u otros factores. Como muchos saben, soy profesor de informática en un instituto de secundaria, aquí en mi ciudad. Este año aparentemente estaré dando clases por primera vez a los dos niveles que incluyen informática: primer y segundo año.

Esta próxima semana tenemos las reuniones previas de profesores. En el instituto donde trabajo las clases empezarán un poco después que en la enseñanza pública, pero ya hemos de estar preparados, evidentemente.

En cuestión de educación, cada año noto numerosas reacciones en los chicos: en general pocas ganas de estudiar, en muchos la incertidumbre por ingresar a un nuevo sistema de educación, con sus temores, con sus cosas infantiles que de a pocos se van convirtiendo en juveniles, y mil experiencias que se juntan en cada clase.

He ido aprendiendo a ponerme en el lugar de ellos, cosa que es muy difícil. Y con la ayuda de psicólogos y asistentes entender algunas reacciones de ellos. Entre las experiencias más lindas estan las que tienen que ver con los logros de algunos, tras un poco de ánimo, de dar estímulo y recompensar el esfuerzo. Cuando a los muchachos se les dá atención y la oportunidad de expresarse, logran mucho.

En ese sentido espero poder aplicarme bien a esta tarea, un año más.

Beginning of classes.
In Uruguay classes begin this year on March 2, depending on the teaching level or other factors. As many of you know, I am a profesor of computer science in an institute of secondary, here in my city. For the first time this year I will be giving classes at the two levels that include computer science: first and second year.

Next week we have the previous meetings of professors. In the institute where I work, the classes will begin a little after than the public teaching, but we must already be prepared, evidently.

In education topics, every year I notice numerous reactions in the boys: in few, no desires of studying, in many the uncertainty to enter to a new education system, with their fears, with their infantile things that they go transforming into juvenile, and a thousand experiences that join in each class.

I've been learning how to understand the students, that it is very difficult. And with the help of psychologists and assistants to understand some reactions of them. Among the prettiest experiences is the good reaction when I give stimulus and to reward their effort. When to the students recieve attention and the opportunity to be expressed, they achieve a lot.

In that sense I hope to be able to apply myself well to this task, all this year.
