Vietnam confirms 4th fatal case from H5N1 avian influenza in 2009

Vietnam confirmed the 4 th deaths of bird flu this year - MoH said the victim was 23 year old woman, Pham Thi Hao, in Ban Choong, Thien Phu commune, Quan Hoa District, Thanh Hoa Province died on Apr 22 in Thanh Hoa Hospital.
Dr. Do Huy Nga, director of Preventive health dept (Ministry of Health) confirmed this is the 4th bird flu death of Vietnam in 2009.
The patient developed symptoms of bird flu on April 16 and she was hospitalized at local hospital on 20 April. Test result confirmed on Apr 23 that the victim was contracted with H5N1 virus.
The previous 3 fatal cases of 2009 were from Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh and Dong Thap province./.
