dreams, freaky shit
but i remembered these from last for some reason, see if you all can sort it out (good luck)
Dreams - fucked up shit. last night:
Dream 1; visiting(/inspecting for buying?) a house/hotel for some kind of conference. it in Indonesia, in a city on Papua but is not overly hot and there aren't many Indonesians there. The hotel is big and we walk through a town a lot like my tiny hometown to get to the auditorium where most of the speeches and concerts are held. i sit in on one concert, it is unmemorable. i know a lot of the people there, Miss Kelly (my high school art teacher whose major distinguishing characteristic is that she is a lesbian) is there - running sound or merch or something, don't remember. we don't talk but i try to smile to her. i leave the concert thing once it's done and return to the hotel where i meet a small boy who seems lost/abandoned. i hang out with him, he adopts me. i recognize a woman i saw him with earlier and tell her i found her son and that he adopted me; she grimaces and i don't see the boy again for a while. i am attacked (in my room? not sure, but for sure in the hotel somewhere) and i search for the culprits but find nothing until i accidentally knock over a false wall in one of the rooms. behind the wall is a manufacturing plant right out of some cartoon where war machines are made. i go to bed or something and the next day i find the boy again - a very gregarious lad who decides to hang out with me again and we go downstairs where there is some kind of meeting and he proceeds to tell me that he as been sexually violated by one of the men there (a priest) and resolve to take him home with me. somehow i warp into a fighting mecha and am back in the weapons room where i face off with the plant manager who decides to try and kill me, the dream ends before the battle is over but i think i was doing well.
Dream 2; visiting a college with one of my brothers(?) not sure which one, if any. anyway, we are in a town on the eastern seaboard in the mid-atlantic states and there is some kind of school there that i never actually see but am there to visit nonetheless. mom and dad are there. we spend a great deal of time on the patio in front of our hotel which is more like a B&B listening to people and whatnot. there are a shit-ton of students from my alma mater there that i hardly know and a bunch of random look-alikes who all seem vaguely familiar (mostly young men). we spot some kind of ski lift for lazy city people going up the side of a building and the tour guide starts blabbing about it so we go and get on it. it somehow takes us to a flight where we begin a fly-over of the city. the only memorable parts after that are: we come across a district of the city that is reminiscent of the Vatican - all water with buildings out there only this place is ultra-blue, looks like some kind of Mario world blue and there are just a whole ton of enormous random buildings out there and the canals are marked off with buoys but make absolutely no sense whatsoever. we fly close enough to the buildings to be able to make out that they are houses of worship for various religions; i recognize an ancient Roman Catholic cathedral and a Greek Orthodox church and a mosque and whole bunch of other stuff that looks Persian and even stuff I can't place at all. we get done with our little aerial tour and wind up in a set of bleachers off to the side with a bunch of other people, some from my old college, some from my old high school, some random people and we are told that this part of the city "is for alumni only" and we proceed to be be tested by some kind of sprite-like teenage girl who is overly feisty but nonetheless mostly clueless, only problem is that she is flanked by a pair of mean-looking enforcers. She eventually picks me; there is some kind of insane ritual where they break a ritual device, place the pieces and then mark you with a number - you are to guess the number and if you get it wrong, the consequences are dire, but they give you clues (if you get their questions right) she asks me what "Siddhartha" means, I say "hidden knowledge" she asks me what way i follow. i first say "the third way" and she starts to get all "ah-ha" on me so i change my answer to "non-linear way" and try to make the two sound the same, it tricks her and confuses her and she is about to let me go when i wake up. and i start to freak out that i may have denied Christ.

'cause then i could have a really kick-ass website with all my awesome music on it. how did i miss the whole "let's make a band" thing in high school? oh yeah, no one wanted a trumpet player and i had zero desire to learn guitar. though i did want to learn drums. never did, though. maybe someday when i have my own place and some extra cash for a drumset. i tell you, those percussion guys were all way too cool for me. ah well. i'm not dead yet, there's still time

life, ghosts, the past
seriously.
i repress my high school and middle school and elementary school memories. those were not good times for me. and now i find myself serendipitously (?) coming across all these people from my past.

granted Beauty is powerful and real yet so is greed and so is pride and all other evil things. Beauty will not save the world, Love will save the world. And he will use Justice, not beauty to do it. Beauty is merely how we get by until the day that things are made right.

suicide, death, life, choices
or more like acquaintances...
a friend of mine from school keeps a pretty regular blog and he happened to make a post recently on a friend of his from high school who had recently died in Iraq.
i'm not sure if it's because i miss my friend and wanted to talk to him or if it was just the human urge to empathize, but it brought to mind a friend of mine from high school as well...

playlist
Working on burning a CD for my brother for Christmas. He's into stuff like System of a Down, Korn and Rob Zombie and Tool and... well, you get the idea. Anyway, I wanted to make him a disc that would introduce him to some new groups and help him branch out from his one music sub-genre. So, with that in mind, what do you think of this?
