Garuda Indonesia and WWF plants 100,000 trees at Sebangau National Park at Central Borneo

100,000 trees will be planted on 250 acres area at Sebangau which is funded from Garuda Indonesia's Australia and Japan route ticket sales. Initial planting event was attended by CEO of Garuda Indonesia Emirsyah Satar, Prof Dr. Emil Salim from the Presidential Advisory Council on Environment and Continuous Developtment, Mrs. Erna Witular, WWF Indonesia CEO Mubariq Ahmad, Vice Governor of Central Borneo Ahmad Diran, Palangkaraya Mayer, Forestry Department and Culture and Tourism Department.

Mr. Satar expressed his delight on the event. He says that this initial planting proved that Garuda Indonesia care about conservations and efforts to create Clear Sky flight operation for the next generations.

This reforestation program is one of few programs that has been prepared by Garuda Indonesia to be more environment oriented including reducing its operational emition.
