I'm glad to know you also don't eat animals!

(Did you know that being a vegetarian helps reduce global warming more than driving a hybrid car does? Pretty cool...or less warm!)

"Did you know that being a vegetarian helps reduce global warming more than driving a hybrid car does?"

How - does it reduce flatulence?

True Peaceful Dwelling 10. February 2008, 22:10

This should help make it clear:
http://www.alternet.org/environment/47668

And for those who don't want to read the whole article, here's an excerpt:

"Last month, the United Nations published a report on livestock and the environment with a stunning conclusion: "The livestock sector emerges as one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global." It turns out that raising animals for food is a primary cause of land degradation, air pollution, water shortage, water pollution, loss of biodiversity, and not least of all, global warming."

Thanks for asking!

It reduces pollution from cow flatulence Jud, but probably increases pollution to the same magnitude with vegetarian flatulence p:

:yikes: :yuck: Could be...but we'll still be ahead without all the land degradation, water shortages, water pollution from feed-lot runoff, etc. All we have to do is find a way to capture and use methane (from all sources) to power our vehicles...and our air purifiers!!:D
