I can now connect to the internet on my SE k750i through SE connection proxy on my laptop. It was quite easy to setup 
This is good because for some reason I can't upload images when connected through GPRS. I suspect this has something to do with O2 Ireland as I had the same problem with my previous phone.
Hehe, silly me. I was using a wap APN instead of an internet one
My phone now works for operamini uploading photos!
I quite like the K750i. CrazyTerabyte has a thorough review and details of what he doesn't like about it here.
Of course in operamini I find that I can't take good photos in poor light and I can't take them in landscape mode as I can't use the (modified) camera software on my phone.
The image on the left was taken and uploaded using operamini's Photo blog bookmark.
The image below was taken with the phone itself in the same poor light.
