A rundown of interwoven interconnected -maybe not- thoughts, ideas, frights, creations and agonies.

Future Features for Opera

, , , ...

Okay, I'm slowly getting rid of the other programs I've been using for so long in order to singly center all my online activities on Opera.
The last piece of software I tried to get rid of (and then I didnt, and the reason is number two below) is Microsoft Outlook 2007.
Don't get me wrong, I was never against Microsoft. Most people are. I'm not. They've done a bunch of ugly, dirty things but they did one thing right. They turned pc's into stupid proof machines so that every stupid one of us can have a machine in our homes.

Anyways my post is about new features that I want to see in the future versions of Opera and the following is my list:

1. The Mail client is just BRILLIANT. However, it needs some tweaking. For starters, the Contacts manager could do with a little bit more versatility. For example, why am I not able to enter a mobile phone number? What happens when someone has more than one phone numbers? It's not hard (or so I think) to allow the user to enter more values by pressing on a '+' button or something.
2. Okay the coOpera piece of software does work. I tried it and it produced an error free list of my contacts taken from a CSV file that Outlook exported and created an ADR file that Opera imported. That's just awesome and it nearly made me get rid of Outlook altogether. However, (and that's a big huge however) I cant get rid of Outlook unless I have a piece of software to allow me to import my PST and OST files into Opera Mail as well! Now, that'd be just awesome, if I could just have something like that, everything would be so much simpler.
3. Okay the Contacts screen is rather inexplicably limited to a view that does not show all the values of a contact. I wouldnt want to see a contact's entire address there in the listing but why not be able to see all their phone numbers, or their nickname? Specially since the program wont allow mobile phone numbers for example, I'm already using the FAX field in order to store mobile phone numbers. It'd be nice if I could just be able to see those in the listing.

Well, those are my three first so that I can stop using Outlook. I think all the other features work just fine. One more feature (although much of an overkill but hey, why not) is to be able to have xobni functionality built-into Opera Mail. I loved the xobni plug in for Outlook, it's just amazing.

[Opera:Unite]

I'm thrilled. I'm not just excited. I'm like a kid who hasn't eaten in days and then one day lands in chocolate land.
I'm hyper. I just love Unite.

Here's mine: http://thone.phlegyas.operaunite.com/

Hope to see you all there  you can mail me for passwords and stuff.
Take good care.

We, the Rain

, ,

leaving mother cloud
as if allowed
starting my trip
a rain drop on my own
in a storm of rain drops, alone

reluctant at first
driven by thirst
a trip to knowledge
scared but heroic
an angel devoid

carving through air
securing my share
of time and experience
safeguarded from
but now i'm free with the storm

sisters and brothers
running from our fathers
escaping the grip of control
leaving dead roots far behind
escaping a life defined and aligned

traveling through time
stepping over the line
making this one decision
just for myself
living life as the utmost wealth

mountains and seas
trees and leaves
things of utter beauty
first time witnessing on my own
in a spark of a moment feeling outgrown

racing through nature
feeling her nurture
a trip so marvelous
worthy of its cost
as we all rain drops hit against rocks

Mother Nature we came,
in glory to proclaim,
your excellence and beauty!

Evaporate us,
disintegrate us,
as vapor send us again,
back to the clouds,
our protector shrouds,
to our fathers and mothers,
myself and my brothers,
to join again with our roots,
where life source commutes,
and calumny refutes.
Mother nature you made us
here we all return
water we once were,
into water we'll turn.
