Season's Greetings and other musings

I hope that all of you who celebrate Christmas have had a relaxing and restful time. Perhaps you are also looking forward to a new year full of hope and prosperity for all. Ignore the naysayers and pessimists and tread your own path and treat each day as a blessing and count yourself lucky that you have 365 brand new days in front of you in the form of 2009.
In a completely different theme, I recommend having a look at Dropbox for a very nice solution to the eternal backing up files problem. It works on Windows, Mac and Linux and is virtually transparent when running on your computer. Most usefully, you can access your files on the web anywhere and even share out certain folders to other people. The free version gives you an ample 2Gb of storage and you can always purchase more if you need it.
I've got my thesis (yes, that) and several other things that would be slightly more than inconvenient if I lost my files.

Here's a recent photo of a heron watching and waiting for fish in the canal near to where I live:

Nikon D50 + Tamron 55-200mm at f/5.6, 1/250, ISO 1600
