End of August and State Fair time in Minnesota!

It's August 21, 2009, and summer is waning!

I am sitting here waiting for the sun to set on a beautiful evening in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Tomorrow morning I gather up my three dogs and head north to Dixon Lake, Minn., where the air is crisp, and my squash, tomatoes, and halapeno peppers are growing at a rapid pace to grace our table before the first ice crystals form on the 15th of September.
I can't wait until I get my 14 foot aluminum boat with a 9.9 horse motor out on the lake to see how the
Crappie, Bass, Northern Pike, Perch, and Walleye are biting. The best part of the weekend is the gathering at the campfire on a Saturday night under the crystal like stars, looking at the Big Dipper, wondering who is out there watching us............
