Figured that since the west coast of the US was one of the good spots to view this one that I better take advantage of it.

Though with some of those cheap point and shoot cameras you can't turn the flash off.

Thank you V, based on the moon map you were in one of the poorer places even without cloud cover. Dec 10 Eclipse Information. Silly that they make cameras that you can't turn the flash off.

Yes, and the other problem is they make it so obscure to find the turn off that many people can't find it. Another trick they use is allow you to turn it off for one shot, but then, it order to get another exposure without flash, you have to go through the long complicated menu structure.
