Food price Tsunami

, , ,

These people live or less than $1/day and now it is impossible for them to find food! This means a civil war in Africa.
People protesting against Rising food prices in Bangalore-India.Business men have hoarded Rice, edible oil and other essential commodities in werehouses and refuse to release them in the market hoping for more profit!Capitalistic Bastards these business men!Protest weere also held in South Korea and other asian countries like Thailand where price of Rice has gone up by almost 80%!
Riots in Africa for Food.People are not able to afford wheat, milk etc.USA subsidises its farmers heavily and these farmers export thier grains to Africa where the cost of producing grains are higher as African farmers are not subsidised by their governments due to lack of funds. So local farmers are not able to sell their poduce in their own markets!Fair play and democracy preaching by America-my foot!
People protesting in Vilnius in Lithuania -eastern europe where prises have risen by almost 60%!
Prises have risen abruptly all over the world because of climatic change,Iraq war, rising temperatures. This figure shows an average prise rise all over the world.
even in USA disposable income is fading away.Citibank fired 10000 people recently!
As the price of corn rises by almost 70% because most of corn cultivated will be used for bio fuel production. This will further increase the prises!we all are heading for a big Food prices tsunami!
why are oil prises still rising!Nobody knows!may be Helliburton wants to earn more in Iraq
This is how our media behaves actually! So real burden is on us the internetters!

More about everything being fed by corn:

I am in search of a new grocery store because our grocery bills have climbed so dramatically. But this blog post puts things in perspective as we are not in any danger of starving to death of getting caught in a civil war due to these rising prices.

A pretty scary headline I just came across:
Sam's Club, Costco limit rice purchases as prices rise

ellin dont worry.u will have ample to eat as long as uncle sam is sunsidising american farmers!

culturesurfer video was great and that article on sam;s club is about shortage of rice.
-Thailand,India and Vietnam has halted rice exports due to domestic rice shortage. So american demand supply goes for a spin!
-Should essential commodities like food and water be put into speculations on stock exchange. At least I am against it!
thanks Naomi for a wonderful insight into corn!
