Celebrities have the power to influence the common folks in a major way.In a country like United States and Britain where media can make or destroy a person’s image.It makes trends,promotes them and can outphase them.
Lately Amy winehouse won a major singing award.Media made it a point to promote her inspite of her having a drug taking background. I have no doubts about the performing abilities of Ms Winehouse,however I do question the message this media attension is conveying to the youngsters who are always make it a point to ape such megastars.Are we giving the message that its all right to use drugs!Does it help creativity. I think American administration should take notice of such trends in the media! On one hand you are fighting with druglords in Afghanistan and Colombia, and on te other side you are ignoring and conveying that all is well and its ok for creative people to take drugs.

I am also surprised that its ok to ban a world class American athlete for taking steroids but drugs are OK! Does it have something to do with Drug Lobby which might be similar to Gun Lobby!Off course we are not against any celebrity taking drugs but its immoral to glorify such people in the media!It gives a wrong kind of message to masses.

Are we loosing our moral values? What kind of World are we going to leave for our future generations! In a world war 2 memorial in france where the American soldiers fought,many as young as 22 year olds, its clearly inscribed “We gave up our today for your tomorrow”!
