Can I hold you close to me?
And then carry you to the bed,
Can I kiss your soft red lips?
And love you like I said

I would, the promise of my soul,
Can I cast away all the laws,
And love you in an unheard of way,
Like an angel with deep claws,

So softly and so gently,
Or fast hearts and jungle wild,
Can I say I love you so,
And hear you repeat those words,

Can I hold your hand in mine,
And kiss it while my eyes,
Look in yours and you look back
And I know we’ll love for all of time.
