Poetry In Motion

dear Crystal Hawkins,

If your poem is imaginative I applaud it and salute you for a work of literary art and great depth of narrative and creative expression. As a poet and writer myself I do not always assume that what I read is literally true or that what I read is a bio of the writer.

But reading your poem here it feels so very deep and very real and in that case I take it as a cry from the heart and a poignant call for help.

I wish I could help you... but please know that in reading your words I send out my prayers for you and my wishes and hope that you will be able to climb out of this dark pit.

You are very welcome.People has already started to notice my work and that i need to share it.

I have been writing poetry since I was a kid and maybe I've gotten a bit better in my work ... but I back then I never wrote in the way you write and I wish I had been able to do that.

It takes an intense depth of feelings and emotions and a talent to express all of this that is held inside ... and you have that. I don't want you to think I am "flattering" you... because "flattery" is, by definition, an insincere action. I want you to know I "praise" your talent, your ability to write in the way you have done and are doing.

There are writers and poets much older than you who would give anything to be able to express themselves in the powerful way that you have done in your work; the part I have seen so far. You need to do what you need to do and that is the essence of being a poet or a writer.. it's the feelings that have to come out into words that are magnetic... that draw others in to read them.

I am priviliged to have read your poem here. I am glad the group is still on my subscription list. Thank you very much for sharing. I will follow your work through here and on your own pages. Very best wishes for all you will do. I think you have a great prosepct ahead of you as you develop your writing.. and I hope it will always have the edge and the power that is displayed in your post here.

As one gets older experience lays down 'layers' - think of them as "onion skins" - and one can write about how the layers are made, where they come from and what they mean in personal or general terms and put this into poetry or stories.

You are on the road (as all of us are) that will lead to great discoveries and already you have a remarkable talent.


Nurse that well and use it as much as you can, for it is a precious gift.

aww thank you for your kind words.i have always loved to write ever since i could.I think i could go somewhere with my works.I wish i had discovered my talent 2yrs ago when i was in Atlanta GA.I think they have a place where you can share your poetry.I did not think you were flattering me.I think these are the words of a sincere and kind person.

You are very welcome. I feel the same as you do , about wanting to write for as far back as I can remember. If the internet had been around when I was a kid then perhaps I could have written down and shared all those amazing feelings that were in me that had to wait until the internet came along. If you can get your poetry onto good sites, I mean sites that are for poets of all ages and experiences and talents and are full of encouragment and courtesy and friendly writers who respect each other then that will be a great benefit for you in your developing writing skills (not the back-biting sites where poets are jealous rivals - don't go to such places, they are depressing in their subjective debates and you don't need that).
