The Brande International Music Workshop Orchestra (BIMWO) was started by Birgit Vinge and artistic director Erik Moseholm. In 1996 BIMWO consisted of twenty talented young musicians, handpicked from the very best conservatory students all over the world, representing 15 nations.
As a result of the great success with BIMWO, Birgit Vinge and Erik Moseholm decided to continue their cooperation with an even bigger international project: “Swinging Europe”. The project is supported by the European Parliament and is focusing on young European talents and this is how the European Jazz Youth Orchestra (EJYO) was born.
