Thank you Lord!!!!

I am sooo happy. Sooo happy that I even cried more than 10 times early this afternoon. I even jumped and danced in the rain!
June 3, 2009 at 3pm was the moment of truth for us freshmen taking BS Nursing at Trinity University of Asia. We have to pass the nursing aptitude exam, pass the interview and maintain a GPA of 2.15. Also, there should be no inceident reports or any violations made for the whole year.
At 3pm, we would receive a letter on whether or not we are still qualified to continue our studies as a nurse and advance to BSN-II. If we fail, it's either we shift course or move to another school.
Freshmen would either get an envelope containing a letter of "Congratulations" or "Thank you" letter with all your transcripts saying you have to move out.
What did I get?

I was seriously crying even before I got my envelope. I know I'm going to fail. Yet, I was still hoping to the Lord that he will create a miracle that I will pass. I rarely asks stuff to God. Most of the time it's just 'sorry' and 'thank you'. Now I begged him to help me.

I am sooo flippin' happy! OMG! THANK YOU SOO MUCH LORD! I owe this to you! My God! I still can't get over it. I was still crying when I got home from school.

When I got home, I delivered the good news to my parents. It was so-so. As if they were expecting it. They didn't realize the hardships I had to go through just to be accepted in that school! I even got scolded and a few tongue-lashing due to some tuition issues. All my happiness disappeared for a moment. *sigh*
Anyways... THANK YOU GOD!! I SOOO LOVE YOU! Congratulations to my other fellow classmates who also got qualified! As for those who didn't... don't worry. It just means God has other plans for you
But seriously... I was about to attempt suicide if I didn't pass. I already made a farewell post and set it on June 5 so you will only see that post after 2 days after I wrote it. Thank goodness I passed.
Here is the whole text from the letter I got:

It is as he said (as ever). If you don't vent regularly, you end up like me - and you wouldn't want that.

Although I agree with Mik. Exams can be taken again, career decisions can be re-considered. But well done. You worked hard for it. It's a tough career that you've chosen and you'd be well advised to consider how you plan to deal with your emotions during times of stress. I do believe that you'll do well.

But I do understand what it's like for you.
In some cultures, women are expected to marry and never have a career.

@Mik. What Anonymous said above, and what I said in my first comment on this page amount to the same thing. Yes, Karen's achievements are laudable. However, from an Islamic perspective, nothing is possible without first having the basic tools to achieve it. Everything we have is God's will. We breath because we are alive, because this is God's will. Our life is, in and of itself, a gift from God. This is the Islamic view point. It does not suggest that we can sit back and relax. We still have to make the effort, but without the gifts that come from God, no amount of effort can achieve anything. A man without eyes cannot see no matter how hard he tries. Short of surgically implanting a camera or an eye and connecting it to his brain, there is nothing that can change this. But even the camera exists and works only because God has given us the means to develop it.
Having said this, I do acknowledge that you have a different view on the subject of God. And I respect your right to hold that different view.

Everything I've ever had or done has been a result of my hard work. Looking at it the other way simply says god loves me and provides for me above most others. That's not fair to me, it's not fair to them and it's not fair to any deity that actually exists. If all men are created equal by god then we're on an even playing field when we start off and only who we are differentiates us and makes some stand taller than others. Putting our accomplishments in god's hands for giving us life in the first place is the same as saying that our parents are responsible for everything we've ever done, and if you'd met my family and compared them to me you'd see why that idea appals me.
And that's my view of it.

Very true, the basic tools to achive your goal is hard work and best effort to achieve something.. above all is your faith in God. all your action will portray your image and your decission will brings to your position and your character will determine your Destiny.. people who are trying to commit suioide are looser they don't realized how much god love us so much to give us and save our life. Failure is the important test to win the challenge. why we do spend so much time and money for our education if we are not learning and you afraid of failure? you just have to believe your ability to prove something that nothing is imposible that we cannot make it. for all mankind no one is born to be a looser, We are all winner its judt have you you take the racwe of your goal. God created us to value our life had given to us. instead let your self allow in your room the stupidity things in your brain, instead you should think your really purpose in life and have an objective to accomplish that god wants you to be. Lets all we have our mission and vission in life. The bear of working hard is bitter but the of fruit is very sweet have a meaningful life wishing you having the most of happiness in Life Sweetie...LRV

Since I notice no one seems to have answered the really old CSS question above and it has not been fixed yet.
To bring the background back, this selector should be changed
to this
[Edit: It seems that #message still exists - it is the textbox when you edit a comment
Santa Furie # 5. July 2009, 16:52
As for the suicide comment, these people say these sort of things to absolve themselves of responsibility for their actions. They will happily drive others to death for not believing their way then say they're weak or losers or that it was god's will that it happened. Anything to stop them from facing up to the consequences of their actions. That's true weakness from true losers.
