We've got a lot of James Bond experts in the My Opera community! We've randomly drawn 30 winners (to be annouced) from the quiz we released last week.
This time, we'll try something different. Let's see how well you know the villians Bond has faced over the years. Remember, you can randomly win an Opera gift pack by sending us the correct answers!
In "The Living Daylights", what is the most likely fate of villain General Koskov?
- Shot by an assassin sent by the Leopard Brotherhood

In “For Your Eyes Only”, what does bad guy Emile Leopold Locque leave on the dead MI6 agent after murdering him?
- His broken eyeglasses
- A dove pin
- Countess Lisl Von Schlaf's card
In “The Man With The Golden Gun”, what karat gold are the bullets fired by Scaramanga?
- 23-karat
- 16-karat
- 20-karat
How was Dr. No killed?
- Eaten by piranhas
- Buried Alive
- Shot in the heart
In “For Your Eyes Only”, what nationality is villain Kristatos?
- Cyprean
- Estonian
- Greek
Good luck!
And remember to see Quantum Of Solace in a theater near you.

widgets, developers, x-widgets challenge, contest
...
Opera is challenging developers to create cross-device widgets or “X-Widgets” that can be used on both mobile phones and PC/Mac computers.
An example of an X-Widget might be a shopping list you keep both on your computer and mobile phone. That way you can update it whenever and never lose track of what you need to pick up at the store. Another could be a simple game that you can play on your computer, then pause it, and continue on your mobile phone – perfect when you are going for a high score. One more could be an online auction widget, where you could follow an auction both at home and on the go, and bid right up to the last minute!
Cash prizes galore!
Opera is stepping up and awarding generous cash prizes for the best overall X-Widgets submitted.
- 1st prize: $5000
- 2nd prize $2000
- 3rd prize $1000
In addition you can win t-shirts and $50 Amazon gift cards if you're one of the first 20 qualified entrants. The best weekly widget will be rewarded with a $300 Amazon gift card.
If your X-Widget is among our top picks, we will promote it on widgets.opera.com and you might also find it bundled in our next widget product release!
Sweet! How do I get started?
Just read the full post in the widgets blog. Giddy up!

winners, widgets, contest, prizes
The talented developers who'll receive goodie-bags are:
It's great to see new developers and users on My Opera take initiative, but also to win prizes! It also goes to show that anyone can win!
A very good Widget we want to spotlight for week #4 is Project Velt 2.2 by gyrobo.
We would also like to add a small thank you note about the worthy cause of raising awareness about homeless issues, with this widget: Homeless not hopeless.
calsbert is a new user, but he hasn't held back. As soon as he joined, he translated the Artist's Sketchbook for Grafio. Albert sure seems like a great guy!
December is just around the corner, along with a bigger competition with an even bigger prize. We won't say what it is just yet, but it's coming. All widgets uploaded now are eligible for the grand prize.
We'll fill you in on more details in a while... but for now, all you need to do is — make a great widget!

winners, photo blog, opera mini, nintendo wii
...
All good things must come to an end (well ... almost), and for the last five days we've been nailed in front of our computers in excitement. The race has been tight, but the one who pulled the longest straw won by 9 percent.
We're very proud to present the new owner of a Nintendo Wii. His submission was carefully planned, and really caught the essence of the contest. All, please congratulate GuitarBoy with his story "Photoblogging photoblogging..." who won first place with 32.4% of the votes.
Wael_CH came close, with 23.4% of the votes he rounds up nicely with a second place, and wins a Nintendo DS Browser Card.
PrettyHA8 came third with 20.1%, and wins an Opera goodie-bag
Thinkgeek, Hbazerbashi and Avheretic had all creative and excellent submissions, but unfortunately they did not come in the top-3. But we don't want anyone to leave empty handed, so we decided to give away an Opera t-shirt to each.
We had a lot of fun creating and planning this contest. We would like to thank everyone who submitted a photo blogin' story, but also to everyone who voted.

photo blog, opera mini, nintendo wii, prizes

The My Opera team would like to thank all for the creative stories submitted for this contest
Now it's time to determine a winner. There has been some discussion about the validity of an open poll. Because we want the community - and not Opera - to determine the winner, we came up with a solution that both protects the integrity of the competition, and reflects the true intent of the community. So, instead of having a poll we've created a separate page.
We agree that a public poll might affect the final result (and to keep some of the excitement going), we've created a form to be used exclusively for voting.
To cast your vote, and view the submissions, click here. The winner will be announced on Friday, January 12
