Getting out of facebook again

Ok, so having gotten into the facebook thing, today I wanted out. Don't ask me why - it's sunday - it's not really that much fun - whatever... But how can you get out? I can't seem to find an option to delete my account. I can "deactivate" my account - but I want to DELETE my account. What do I do?

I somehow managed to roam into the facebook thingPeople blogging about my work makes me famous, right?

Once your in you can never get out, just watch out if a couple of guys in suits pull up outside your apartment late at night

I wrote a mail to privacy@facebook.com and I got a reply!

"If you deactivate, your account is removed from the site. However, we
save all your profile content (friends, photos, interests, etc.), so if
you want to reactivate sometime, your account will look just the way it
did when you deactivated. If you do want your information completely
wiped from our servers, we can do this for you. However, you need to
remove all profile content before we can do this. Once you have cleared
your account, let us know and we'll take care of the rest."

So this is the way.
