Oh well it is here http://my.opera.com/csant/blog/2007/05/31/defaults for all those that want a first pointer to what we do about finding handlers on unix - and if you know a lot about how KDE deals with handlers please do point me at some documentation I've done some KDE work, but I'd like to do more.

but i am interested to know why opera use qt and not gtk, i 'think' gnome + xfce users are much more than kde users, (like this poll says).
may i got it wrong, so this be off-topic, but i don't understand exactly, is those handlers are related to kde itself, or qt or the window manager kwin ?
anyway, i will keep tuned about that, and if i found documentation about that i will link to it here.
