United States and British Nations in Prophecy

, , , ...

The United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand have been exceedingly blessed with wealth, power, and freedom in the last two centuries compared with the rest of the world. These blessings are the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. God has blessed our nations, not because of our righteousness compared with other people, but because of God's promises to our anscestors (Genesis 22:15-18, Genesis 27:25-29, Genesis 35:9-11, Genesis 48:19, Genesis 49:22).

But those blessings are about to be removed.

In recent decades we have become increasingly immoral and are drifting farther and farther from the God of the Bible, and Bible prophecy shows that God will take away our blessings and punish us with the greatest time of trouble in the history of the world. This time of suffering is called in the Bible, "the great tribulation" and it will fall heavily on the English speaking nations of the world. Once it begins, it will last two and a half to three and a half years, and during this time about nine out of every ten people in these countries will die and the rest will go into slavery.

The Bible does not indicate exactly when this will begin, but there are indications it will probably start in the lifetimes of most people reading this, perhaps in the next 10-15 years.

Whose Interpretation of the Bible?

,

About 40 years ago I was challenged to prove my beliefs, and I was able to prove for myself both that God exists and that the Bible is His inspired word, or in other words, the Bible is God speaking. Since then I have made the personal decision to believe what God says in the Bible. I believe the Bible because I have proved it is His word and I choose to believe that God does not lie.

The account of how I proved that God exists is in my free, public domain, online book "Preaching the Gospel" at http://www.ptgbook.org.

Some have asked, when I say that we should look to the Bible for truth, "Whose interpretation of the Bible?"

That question contains an assumption I do not share. The assumption is that the Bible cannot be read like any other book, that it must be interpreted before it can be understood. While there are some difficult passages that are not easily understood, most of the Bible is plain and needs no interpretation. And the scriptures that are difficult to understand are interpreted by the scriptures that are easy and need no interpretation. Usually, people who think the Bible as a whole needs to be interpreted want to "interpret" it to mean something other than what it says. They want to twist the meaning so they have an excuse not to believe and obey God.

There are many Bible scholars who have spent years studying the Bible and theology in the colleges and universities of this world, yet they do not believe and obey God. Their efforts to study the Bible are largely useless. They learn to "interpret" the Bible according to the teachings of their religion and their instructors. But God helps those who believe and obey Him to understand the simple statements of the Bible. Someone who has a humble mind and fears God and believes and strives to obey what God says in the Bible has a better chance of understanding the Bible, even if he has little formal education, than some highly-degreed brilliant scholar who has spent years studying the Bible, but does not believe and obey God.
