I just picked up a load of stuff for the gerbils from freecycle they're alot happier now

Milky and her own worst enemy...

The large bottle I added to the gerbil cage was most hated by Milky...but I thought I'd try putting a towel over it and now she loves it! She's lying down in there right now. Mungo keeps trying to hump her, I'm pretty sure she isn't male, I believe it's a dominance thing. It's really been pissing Milky off! Mungo hasn't figured the tube out so Milky has some peace! Haha.
Milky seems to bite me really hard but also likes coming out of the cage with me. Maybe she keeps expecting sunflower seeds? I think I did the wrong thing by letting them have a sunflower seed before they came out the cage, now they've figured they don't have to come out for me to give one to them. Well, I'm not that much of a soft touch so they can't get round me that easily!

My new gerbils making a nest

Sorry about the poor quality it was on my phone and it was night time with bad lighting. I've moved stuff since then. They hated their wheel and kept burying it so I've added another room out of an old bottle. The black one is Mungo and the white one is Milky. Mungo hasn't worked out the tube yet but has done a fine job of burying tubes! She loved the wooden one I bought them the ohter day! It's now buried at the bottom. Milky seems more interested in finding an escape route. I feel sad...my partner says I don't deal with rejection very well. Very true! I've only had them 5 days, it will take a while for them to get used to me. *sigh* well I hope they do.
