Ever increasing human population

Malthus' zero growth theory (?)

rrghghghghg!!!!

on a tangent-i was thinking of reducing my caffeine intake today. i've heard swede's reference to this as a "white" time...well thats actually refraining completely for say...i think her example was a "white month". well that is beyond me. i'm think more like three servings through this day and tonight at work. and if that is possible tommorrow. and then maybe for a week. and we'll go from there. eventually i might take on refined sugars, which really sneak in large amounts via my coffee. so i reckon this will additionally serve as a moral support forum and i will thank you readers and commentors ahead of time for being here to listen and comment . yepp, yepp...cigarrettes were kicked in the recent past (approximately five months...i've even engaged in socially smoking one or two on three separate occassions since with no significant regression), coffee today and tommorrow...and tommorrow THE WORLD!! and refined sugars :D

Where will all the animals go?

yeah well. i'll try again tommorrow.

This is another thing I see in movies and TV serials. When somebody enters in a room the first thing they do is to take a cup and fill it with coffee from some kind of boiler that sits in a corner. Sometimes if they are cops they also get a donut. It is completely unknown here. Our coffee is "espresso" and you can't drink it in big cups unless you are trying to suicide. Fortunately I have got no idea on what our cops do at work.

The day is never quite the same without coffee. Its amazing how the warm black liquid makes time stand still.I've tried countless times as well and well........(I've never succeeded) blah!!
Refined sugars next??????.......Jeese you are punishing yourself:)

qhadirach 10. September 2007, 06:24

ahghghg...the fate of icarus. i actually went the opposite way.

so its starting over again. i will begin with the cigarettes and work my way back to the coffee . today i will try to keep it to a quarter pack and tommorrow i will try to not smoke one at all. but so far, i have found that i enjoy whey protein smoothies instead of coffee and if i absolutely need it, one cup toward the end of my nightshift.

it was some vicious headaches without the coffee...they came with the sunset (i made it on three days on separate occassions).

qhadirach 11. September 2007, 09:25

hmmm. caffiene and sugar low. nicotine astronomical.

Heavy casualties???? sounds bad.You are not alone,I gave up coffee this week too.How I miss the warm black velvet liquid every hour.We need to start a coffee anonymous group:lol:

qhadirach 23. September 2007, 07:02

qhadirach 30. September 2007, 07:16

Well at least you are trying:up:

qhadirach 29. November 2007, 03:42

lol...fruit is a great endeavour!!!! ...i hear it prevents invasive medical stuff a little ways down the road :D

thewarphilosophy 8. January 2008, 01:42

That's good that you are willing to limit your caffeine intake...

As far as refined sugars go, I wish that this high fructose corn syrup garbage would stop being used

qhadirach 9. January 2008, 07:55

there are finally some alternatives coming out with places like the earthfare, trader joes, etc. along with the high fructose corn syrup, i find the "don't eat anything you can't pronounce" or "don't know what it is" rules very helpful.

lesswoodsend 1. July 2008, 23:11

What is the final outcome? I am just curious (ok, nosy) --I drink at least a pot of coffee per day or I simply will shrivel. And since cigarettes have become so costly I roll my own and I just love them. I am actually searching for a new unhealthy thing to do, but I am undecided which way to go ~ overeat or never ever exercise. I am pretty sure I will be going with the food thing since I adore really, REALLY fatty red meat.

qhadirach 8. July 2008, 06:38

lol. the final outcome...i too, still drink about a pot a coffee a night (i work third shift), smoke a pack of cigarettes a day...and eat whatever i get my hands on b/c i'm late, out of time and need any sort of replenishment i can wranagle as and when its available. a new direction....hmmm, i already don't exercise and am completely gluttonous, so things are only really looking up. i could take up drinking myself, but i get wicked headaches these days.

red meat is definitely hard to let go.

lesswoodsend 22. August 2008, 02:30

Well its not so much the meat as a good padding of fat on the edges  Now that gets my blood pumping right there! I live in cow boondocks here~ can I get meaty goodness? no. I must drive 2 - 2.5 hours away for purchasing very high quality meat. and by high quality I mean, stuff most physicians insist cause insidious illnesses, sure to make much money for them in healthcare costs to maintain us at a possibly living, otherwise vegetative condition, surely connected to much machinery and having a daily regime of color-coded pharmaceuticals.

In times like this, this is why its good to be Polish. We do not need to worry about things like that. We always just say the famous thing ...

*we do not speak of this things!*

 ... (*physicianly deer in headlight stare*)
