Bandwidth

.Mtn introduces new data rates and new data bundles!.
I'm used to chugging along at a slow 45KB/s and paying through my @$$ for data. But now it looks like I'm suck with Operamini because 'cruising' along at a mere 16KB/s is just pure torture!!
.What really pisses me of though, is their, "we're doing you a favour by fugging you in the @$$" attitude!
.Upload speeds are already governed to about 8KB/p! Which explains why downloading Opera from Namibia takes five minutes, but downloading the same binary from South Africa takes half a bloody hour?
.
. It already takes eight hours to download the Ubuntu live cd image!
. and that's only about 700MB

Even then, I found that Opera Turbo suffers from the same latency problems as Operamini.
The point is, how can they call it "broadband" when it's too slow for even mobile YouTube?
I'm still trying to figure out how it's possible to set up a server when South Africa only has hsdpa but no hsupa?
When I enquired about ADSL. I was politely informed that it's just a rumour. Apparently Telkom's 'ADSL' is analogue!
So basically, 'broadband' is now just a dead legacy in South Africa.
