ABSA warns me about spam
Friday, February 12, 2010 7:55:17 AM
I've just recieved an SMS from my bank warning me not to respond to this spam email that I received last year in December, and again more recently in January.
.
Nice going chaps, had I been gullible enough to actually give out my personal info to a spammer. This warning would only be two months too late.

I can't understand how someone can be savy enough to setup and use email but still not realise that this spam is a fraud intended to steal your hard earned money. Most people that I know come to me to put MXIT on their phones but aren't too stupid that they'd fall for this crap.
But somewhere out there, some idiot actually fell for it

I actually spoke to my sister today but never did this occur to me because she was prattling on about some valentines crap.

"closing the stable door after the colt has bolted"
as I know you are eager to learn english I shall explain.
A colt is a young horse. By 'bolted', in this context, we mean 'ran away'. So closing the door to the stable where the colt is kept, is pointless after the young horse has already run away.
In this case, it would have been pointless warning me of the scam had I already become a victim of the scam.
Fortunately, all two of my brain cells are intact and functional. And I only needed one to figure out that it was a scam.
