For some reason I've become self-conscious about pictures of me as profile pictures and have started to avoid them, but I probably should use this for something, if the chance arises.

I live in Chicago. I think you have the picture turned around. The Hancock is north of the Sears Tower.

I don't live in Chicago, but as far as I remember, this photo is not reversed. Wouldn't I be staring from the left side to the right if it were?

Yes. I have a Boston photo that I scanned in and after I put it up online, I discovered that it was reversed.

The thing is, my brother took this photo of me, and he was to my left, with the city to my right. Maybe I'm being dense, but I can't see how the photo could have been reversed without it making it seem as if I were on the opposite side of the lake.

No, you're right. I took it at face value and it seems backward, but then I figured out where you were standing, and I can see why it looks that way. My mistake. I apologize.
