Directory of Lost Causes

Thought for the day (X2)

1) It is possible to regret being born. It is not possible to regret not being born.

2) Friends are just people who come to your funeral.

Very funny - in 1) I think I used a similar phrase in a post we are both chewing over in another area of your blog - the line came from a Brown/Squire lyric/Stone Roses - anyway it's all part of the way we vacillate all day I believe.

and 2) I trust my friends come to mine - they are already invited ... bring a bottle and some descent CD's + a DVD of my favourite cartoon "Wait 'till your father gets home" containing enough material to prick one's conscience about prejudice, racism, ageism, bigotry, vigilantes, friendship, etc, what a weird and wonderful cartoon series - my taste and lust for life is broad - so why not on judgement day? I'll have to look at that again.

You know, I don't think I've seen Wait Till your Father Gets Home. I'll have to look it up.

It's no secret that at my funeral, I want this song played:

You know, I think I'm going to put that song up as a separate post.

That's great - I'm a fan as well - saw them when I was a kid (well 17) about '77 I think? at the Electric Circus, Collyhurst, Manchester. What a dump but a great night. Rob.

Ergo, I will never know who my friends are?

quentinscrisp 10. November 2009, 12:58

Ah, no, I didn't mean it that way. I meant, in my cheerful way, that friends are simply people who come to your funeral and do not exceed such a role in any way.

But some of them don't come, of course.
