The Life of Radostsguy

Golf!

, , ,

I got the following email from a friend, who referred to it as "The fuuniest golf line he had ever heard:

Mickelson was asked if that was the first 9 he had ever made on the 13th hole at Torrey Pines.

“No,” he said. “I’ve had a 9 on the 13th before. I was 8 years old.”

************************

Ummm - I didn't get it. Dumb I guess. Anyway, here is my responce in part:

"I gather that it took this lad 9 swings at a silly little white ball with curiously misshapen, over-priced sticks to put the ball in some hole in the ground numbered 13 about 100 m away from where he started. And that he was being mocked by someone because of it. Well, IMHO, he was fucking lucky that he managed to hit the ball in the first place. And the fact that it only took him 9 swings to get the ball into the hole is a friggin miracle! If I tried to play the stupidest game ever invented by mankind (until some idiot came up with Video Games, that is), the stick would be even more misshapen after I wound it around a tree after taking about 200 swings at the ball while it sat unmolested on the tee!"

Spaced out! Are we it?What do you want to be when you grow up?

I like minature golf. Maybe I would try to other golf if they rented clubs.

Yeah. Miniature golf is kind of fun. But I do know the history of the beginning of golf. (No shit!) A Scottish doctor, I think it was, noticed that the Scottish Gentry were getting rather fat and sloppy, and figured they needed more excercise and fresh air. And of course, he was absolutely right. So he thought about a way to get them outside and walking, and came up with the idea of golf. (That's why the first and primary Golf Course is St Andrews, Scotland.) It worked too.

But now, of course, the good doctor's idea has amounted to null! The fat and sloppy just take Golf Carts! Duh!

lol

Not all fat people are sloppy!

What exactly is a Radost?

I think I sent you a Skype message, are you in Bulgaria?

Jimradostsguy Wednesday, June 25, 2008 8:02:53 AM

True. They are not. What is a Radost? I'm going to tell her you asked, and she'll put a Bulgarian Curse on you! She's my Witch Lady! That's why I'm Radost's Guy! lol

Radost is a diminutive. Her full name is Radostina. It derives from the Slavic root word "rad" which means "happy, joyous". So to say "Radostina is happy." it's

"Radostina e rada." (BG) or simply:

"Radostina rada." (RU)

(The Russkies are a lazy bunch, and don't bother with the verb "to be" in the present tense!) lol

In RU, I would say about myself, "Ya rad!" Or about us, "Mi radi!"

In BG, that would be, "Miye sme radi!"

The last in Cyrillic: "Мие сме ради!"

Thus endeth your first class in Linguistics 101! bigsmile

Sunfloweryulenka Tuesday, July 22, 2008 7:31:36 PM

So Russians are lazy?Ha-ha-ha. Может просто не хотят писать лишнего если и так понятно:)?

Jimradostsguy Tuesday, August 5, 2008 2:23:28 PM

За Россию!

(I hope that worked! I wouldn't want yulenka to drop a Nuke down my chimney! Rad would be furious!) lol

Now that I've suitably sucked up to yulenka, maybe she can explain why Russians don't use the verb "to be " in the present tense? Huh? Why? Почему?

You may be interested in this, моя Русская. It's a comment I made in my Tchaikovsky Ballet Clips Section on my Site. It concerns the Mariinsky:

"Note that in the "Garland Waltz" in Sleeping Beauty, that young aspiring Ballerinas and Danseurs from the "Vaganova Ballet Academy", the Ballet School at the Kirov/Mariinsky Theater, are present for part of it. This is standard procedure at the Mariinsky. They always try to work the kiddies into as many presentations as they can.
The change of name of the theater, it would appear, was not considered important to the Western Propaganda Machines, thus few Westerners know about it. So the Mariinsky decided to stick with the old name, as we see in the theater's Official Touring Logo below. Of course, more Westerners could try paying attention, but they don't.

What can you do?"

Is what I said pretty well true?

Damn! The BBCodes aren't working properly anymore. The title above was supposed to be size 7 and, being about The Motherland, RED, of course! irked
