Search Bar in Ubuntu

If you like to have a search bar as MacOS X spotlight

open the Terminal and enter the following

sudo apt-get install deskbar-applet

Then go on the top bar/panel and right click, select then Add to Panel, in there you can select Deskbar and then click Add
