In the weeks gone by, i have come across statements made by some great individuals. These might be simple aggregation of the most basic words in the language but within them they have such positive energy stored that a reader, like me, is inspired to the core. Enjoy the read!!

2. For every error you make, you loose not just on the error but also on the marks that the opportunity had in store.- Anonymous
3. There is a number associated to everything we do in life. See them. Life will be more interesting. - Anonymous.

And

Getting started with cricket after a long time. Finding that sweet connection with willow is just so self rewarding. We went on win our first match of league tournament this sunday. Coming weekend we play against Nokia India.
When not on field we are busy investing in real estate in London over a game of monopoly.. that starts in the evening and goes on till early morning with breaks in between strictly for shooters...

Not to forget..courses in stats and DA is on and going great...

When we read, see or hear someone talking about something we are in a state of developing perspective about the event. On the basis of our first hand judgments about the event we feel confident enough to communicate our perspective to others. It’s a fair practice- the right of expressing ourselves! As a matter of fact- It’s an incredible practice.
This incredible practice of communicating perspective brings a great value add to both sides involved- the communicator and the listener. I think it’s most effective in bringing a value add when both sides are not sure (or not saturated with their perspective about the event) and they freely speak whatever limited knowledge they have. What works is that both sides involved are unsure about things their respective ends and are, therefore, curious to know what the other side feels about it. To add to that, they have this feeling of emptiness inside them and they want to dwell more on what they hear from the communicator.
Some of my recent conversations with people around me about work related issues reinforces this. A friend in our leisure conversation said, “May be the prospect needs a consultant and not merely a software developer”. The word “consultant”, otherwise a cliché term in service industry, added so much to my perspective later on and gave a new dimension all together to my approach. A similar thing happened while in conversation with another friend. Both sides boasted about their limited knowledge about Open Source technology. And later on in the day we went on to exchange knowledge about the same and acknowledging that we both had limited knowledge about the topic and that is what kept us on forefront of acquiring knowledge about it. Soon we will have a perspective about it too!
So in retrospect, while it is important to communicate perspective, only an open mind with an insatiable hunger to learn more shall be able to add more to that perspective. Limiting ourselves to our present state of perceptions will make our perspectives as slim as Giselle Bundchen :-P

When I find out all the reasons
Maybe I'll find another way
Find another day
With all the changing seasons of my life
Maybe I'll get it right next time
An now that you've been broken down
Got your head out of the clouds
You're back down on the ground
And you don't talk so loud
An you don't walk so proud
Any more, and what for
Well I jumped into the river too many times
to make it home
I'm out here on my own, an drifting all alone
If it doesn't show give it time
To read between the lines
'Cause I see the storm getting closer
And the waves they get so high
Seems everything We've ever known's here
Why must it drift away and die
I'll never find anyone to replace you
Guess I'll have to make it thru, this time
Oh this time
without you...
Off all the noises around us, music is the least disagreeable. I couldnt agree more to this statement when today i happened to closely follow the lyrics of my favorite song -- Estranged by Guns and Roses.

“Independence is self-government of a nation, country, or state by its residents and population, generally exercising sovereignty” –Wikkipedia
Come midnight Tuesday, 15th August, India will enter into 60 years of its Independence from foreign rule. With just three days to go, I woke up to perhaps yet another extraordinary Sunday (well it’s a weekend so it has to be extraordinary!). Something on the front headline of a leading journal made this Sunday surely different in terms of thoughts that are provoked in your mind.
The heading of Hindustan times read-- “Fortress India”
I went on reading it inquisitively, few pages still ahead- There were a total of six page coverage on how Independent India has virtually got converted into fortress India, courtesy the unprecedented security arrangements that has been laid in the entire nation, especially New Delhi. To add on my father narrates me his experience of undergoing the new security check on his flight to Delhi from Mumbai.
I got up with a rather heavy thought after reading and hearing all this. Are we really approaching 15th August or are we preparing for a war? Are we really independent? What is independence after all? After some serious thought, I reached at a conclusion that Independence has changed its meaning every now and then. And no matter what happens something or the other will always plague us, our society, our nation and this world.
Several years back, when India got independent, it was our incapacitance to feed our population, few years later; it became our incapacitance to control our growing population, which was such a huge internal crisis. And few years still ahead-now that we have leveraged our growing population to make our country a low cost destination of the most skilled managers in the world- it is our incapacitance to protect this population for terrorism, which now plagues us. Interesting isn’t it? We can never really be independent. It is just a proud feeling of accomplishments that we Indians have achieved so far and instilling amongst us a a thought that we and our future generations have to tread an endless path to enjoy Independence with more fervor than ever before.
Few moments later after penning my thoughts…. A question popped up from an AIESEC trainee, Alice. She is spending her last few days in India in my house and is flying to UK this coming Thursday. The question was
“Why is there so much threat at this time of the year to Indians from terrorists?” and I hope I am safe in the flight.
I choose to answer in a low, rather in my own reserved voice, “That’s because we are approaching our Independence Day”. A long discussion followed this. And I said yes hopefully you should be safe. But for that she is required to be at the airport 4 hours prior to her departure so she can undergo the stringent security check up.

Something you don’t push for forever. You let them go. You just leave it to your destiny-to either happen again or gift you with something new. Destiny has its own way of leading your life. You have your own way of shaping your destiny. What a beautiful paradox of life this is. You can’t have all the things all the time and neither will you ever be left alone.
So Get up and get goin :-P
Hands itching… first pay cheque yelling.. spend me ghetto!

I am back with cricket. Or better cricket is back in me!
Once a pro in my school days and first year college, I have recently started playing in Delhi again. Weekends leave me with sufficient time at hand to put on the gear at the sports club and take few sweet knocks with the willow. It’s an incredible feeling to wear the flannel, judge the pace of the ball and chase for that extra bit of yard between the wickets. Especially when I am getting back to it after nearly four long years!
My first match score: 45
Few memories to recall:
My first cricket trials at Sec-16 cricket stadium Chandigarh.
My trips to Gauwhati and Bangalore at the age of 13 for national cricket tournament
The first biography I picked up- The making of a cricketer on Sachin Tendulkar as my 14th birthday gift.
The award for the best batsman for U-16 Edmund Rice cricket tourney at St. Johns Chandigarh playing for my school Bhavans Chandigarh.
The only player form first year to be in PEC college cricket team.
!
Lets see if i can add something more to this in future.

I so wish i had a camera to capture this.... was my first thought when today in the morning, while commuting on the bus i witnessed a sight that took me by aww....
Coming from a small and beautiful city like chandigarh, this sight made me realize that things have changed so much... It took few seconds to absorb it but when i did i felt excited to be witnessing this...so much that i could not help sharing this with a stranger sitting next to me .. that how i felt.
the sight of watching ... a plane nearly about to land on the Indira Gandhi airport , the delhi metro gunning down at its top speed carrying hundreds to work early morning and well if this itself wasnt enough then there was a train passing throught the palam railway station right below the flyover on which my bus was passing through..
I saw all four of them together... plane, metro, train and the bus... some sight it was. a sight that somehow made me proud ... i could see that India is growing so much that at eight in the morning people are running so much .. oblivious to everthing else but for time ....
It gave me a rush to imagine being a part of this growth..
