Jokes
Concerned when one of his most reliable workers doesn't show up, the boss calls the employee's home.
The phone is answered by a giggling child.
"Is your dad home?" The boss asks.
"Yes."
"May I speak to him?"
"No."
"Well, can I speak to your mom?"
"No. She's with the policeman."
Alarmed, the boss says, "Gosh. Well then, may I speak with the policeman?"
"No. He's busy talking to the man in the helicopter that's bringing in the search team."
"My Lord!" says the boss, now really worried.
"What are they searching for?"
"Me," the kid chortles.

Memoirs
People vanish,
people die.
People laugh
And people cry.
Some gives up,
some will try.
Some say "hi"
while some say "bye".
Others are honest,
Others may lie.
Others may forget you,
but never will I. (*^-゚)ノ

Movies, Culture, Japan
Last sunday, I have watched the re-runs of The matrix. You might notice that the symbols on the computer screens on the movie consist of reversed letters, numbers, and Japanese katakana characters.
Matorikkusu "マト リックス" is the Japanese title of The matrix. Movie titles are sometimes turned into totally different ones in Japanese. Read my previous post in Movies in Japanese.
マトリックス is written in katakana.
Katakana is the one of the three Japanese writing scripts. Others are hiragana and kanji. The combination of all three is used for writing.
Kanji represents blocks of meanings and hiragana expresses the grammatical relationship between them. It is usually used for foreign names, the names of foreign places and words of foreign origin.
日曜日にマトリックスを見た or Nichiyoubi ni matorikkusu o mita which means "I watched the matrix on sunday." In Japanese "I" or "you" is often omitted, so "I" watashi is not included in the sentence.
Nichiyoubi "sunday" and the verb stem mi "to watch" is written in kanji. While matorikkusu is from the english word matrix, then it's written in katakana and the rest are in hiragana.
Foreign names are normally written in katakana like
キア ヌ リーブス which means Keanu Reeves.
Kanji is very popular for tattoos and designs as well.
Katakana seems to be the least popular among the three scripts but it is simpler than kanji, and it has only fourty six characters and it makes katakana so cool in The matrix.

Jokes
Lucy was having a lovely time shopping. In the first shop she visited, she found some perfect shoes and, in the second, a beautiful dress.
Her mobile rang. It was a female doctor telling her that her husband was in intensive care following a car accident. "Tell him where I am and that I'll be with him ASAP," said Lucy.
She turned to head for her car, but another bargain caught her eye. Before she knew it, she'd spent the rest of the afternoon in the shops. When she arrived at the hospital, the doctor shouted, "You finished your shopping trip, didn't you?"
Well, I hope you enjoyed it, because it may be your last. Your husbands's condition deteriorated while he waited for you and he'll require 24 hour care for the rest of his life."
Wracked by guilt, Lucy broke down in tears. The lady doctor chuckled and said,
"Only joking, he's dead. Now, let's see what you bought!"

Japan, Foods, Culture
Ramen is a noodle soup that was originally imported to Japan from China in early Meiji Period. In more recent decades, it has become a very popular dish in Japan, adapted to the Japanese taste.
Ramen ya "ramen restaurants" are in the thousands, and instant ramen "invented in 1958" is popular both in and outside of Japan. Ramen noodles are about as thin as spaghetti and are served in a soup that varies according to region, city and even specific vendor.
Ramen's popularity stems in part from the fact that it is so inexpensive and widely available, making it an ideal option for budget travelers. In addition to freshly prepared ramen at ramen ya, supermarkets and convenience stores offer a large selection of instant ramen bowls.
Though ramen can be considered a one dish meal, gyoza are a common side dish offered at ramen ya. These Chinese style, pan fried dumplings are eaten with a soya and vinegar sauce. The shichimi "red chili mix" is usually available on the table to be added according to taste.
Ramen can be classified according to its soup base.
The most popular ones are:
Miso Ramen: Brown, non-transparent, miso based soup.
Shio Ramen: Transparent, salt based soup.
Shoyu Ramen: Brown, transparent, soya sauce based soup
Tonkotsu Ramen: White, milky, pork based soup.
Ramen can also be named according to its ingredients.
For example, chashumen is a ramen dish that features barbecued pork as toppings.
Yummy!
