so i`m somewhat into anime, and i`ve heard of a certain `detroit metal city` where quote `L from death note is the singer of a band`. actually that might the actor in the live action movie but i don`t care about those (except nodame cantabile) so in the end that bit is not true.
so this is an 12 episode long series about a death metal band (guess their name), which`s singer`s actual goal was to become a pop musician, and tries to maintain that image to his folks and friends. i think this is a pretty retarded setup, but obviously it delivers many lulz. overall i`m not that inspired to watch the whole thing. maybe my mood.
BUT, surprisingly they take the metal part quite seriously - the few tracks that i`ve heard so far, are actually quite well made and death metal like. also after some research i`ve found that they made a `metal mix` album with pop-rock musicians, and added some metal plating - and it turned out quite well in my opinion.

or is it just me but often very dark looking bands (especially japanese) turn out to be not so dark actually

ever since i learned english, i've always loved british shows. over the years, i've been watching top gear, and whenever someone interesting was the celebrity, i looked around and watched some shows from them. this way i learned about jonathan ross, jimmy carr, jodie kidd etc.
so now i randomly came across the above titled show, which is a new year's eve quiz show with funny comedians/actors and the like, and i have to say it's bloody brilliant
highly recommended for ppl who are into british stuff

after reading 4 books of scott pilgrim i decided that i should categorize it as "FLCL-ripoff" (maybe it's a bit too harsh to say so), but i think it's rather enjoyable.
i started reading it after i saw the movie's trailer, and now i think the movie deviates from the manga comic, although it's still just trailers, but scott seems like a total loser (unlike in the manga comic), i mean he had tons of girlfriends at the age of 23, plays in a band and famous for his fighting skills? and yet in the trailer he seems like a whiny girl who will become better (probably) by the end of the movie.
and i don't think i saw knives.
