http://gothamist.com/2008/02/03/guerilla_market.php Interesting...beyond the ghost-bike controversy, I have mixed reactions to this as a marketing ploy...I enjoyed the whimsy of it more when I thought it was a guerrilla art project, but it's still visually arresting. (And as has been pointed out, most ppl don't even see the DKNY URL painted on the bike.)

LOL yup, it was very surprising to me as well when i noticed the dkny.com on it... i was so hoping for one of those painted cow movements... we definitely need one of those again!

redjava 7. February 2008, 18:22

i so agree with the article though... thanks for looking it up

FrogBoots 7. February 2008, 19:12

You're welcome...I hesitated to post the link bcs I didn't want to take the fun out of it, but on the other hand...

I agree with you about the need for a "painted cow" of some kind.. Maybe a flower-covered bike would be fun...or a rainbow bike...or a "psychedelic" one...and then I remember that I'm old enough to remember how the commercial world co-opted the Flower Power movement the first time around!

redjava 7. February 2008, 20:05

ha! seems that the marketing folk are becoming less and less creative... such a shame because as much as i despise commercials i can so appreciate the good art involved...

p.s.
i had the fun while it lasted, now back to reality LOL
