virtual reality in progress...

today i resolved not to make any customary resolutions whatsoever, perhaps it is because the day started off void of any of that "fresh start" feeling one would normally get at this time of the year... so i shifted aimlessly from room to room unable to focus on anything worthwhile... of course the pile of laundry that desperately needed to be put away did not qualify as such and neither did the dishes from the new year's eve party... i did manage to take a few shots of random objects in an effort to nudge my creativity and capture them as more interesting than in reality... i was rather pleased with the results... the restlessness grew as day progressed and cabin fever was closing in... sure sign to get out and take a walk, but it was too cold, an incentive was needed so after checking with a few neighborhood restaurants to see who is open for dinner i managed to persuade a friend to join me for a bite at a thai place nearby... we haven't seen each other since before the holidays so naturally we spent the next two hours comparing xmas stories... badgering various members of our dysfunctional families over curry puffs and pad thai seemed almost therapeutic, that plus two glasses of wine each set us into a nice relaxed mood... and then... despite the obvious lack over overindulgence it hit us... out of nowhere... first signs of food comma... it came fast, it came unexpected... as if under some kind of spell, my friend and i sat there, yawning uncontrollably, eyelids becoming increasingly heavy, fighting the urge to lay our heads on the table... we checked the time... it was only 8pm... we exchanged puzzled looks and wondered... what the hell was in that food????
