OMG, Muse is the Best Band Ever!

Woo!! First post in a looong time :D, this is quite lonely, but i'll post anyways 'cause I love this band...fuckin' Bellamy how the hell does he do that??
Muse came to my city a week ago (July 16) and did the best Live show I've seen in my life...I leave with a video of the concert with my favorite song: "Plug in Baby":

P.S. I leave you with a spoiler-free scene from "The Dark Knight" for those who haven't seen it...Heath Ledger (R.I.P) is full of win in this movie, remade the definition of "perfection":

P.S.2 I arrive at myopera and notice that a good friend of mine from here named kalpesh mistry left myopera 4 freakin' months ago...where have I been? may luck follow in whatever you do kalpesh !

Fire Emblem is way too cool

I just had the chance of laying my hands on Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn for the Wii. It's awesome! :D, I don't really like RPG's, but this one really blows my mind.

Quick Reviews

hey, i'm back :D! Let me show you my thoughts on 3 games I have bought over the last 2 months:

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption- I know, it's been out for six months...but i just had the chance of buying it 2 weeks ago. I haven't finished it yet, so I can't give a full opinion but from what I've played (67% of the game) i think this is the best game of the Prime series (and believe me, I LOVED the first Prime).

the good:
+ excellent Game Cube-Wii control scheme translaton
+ keeps the Metroid escence
+ finally the Metroid world becomes talkative!

the bad:- nothing to new or innovative

SCORE
(UNTIL NOW): 9.2

No More Heroes- I waited soooooo long for this game and believe me, it won't leave you dissapointed. Suda 51 really made an excellent game (with its share of flaws) after his fiasco that was Killer 7. Funny, Bloody, Action-packed, this game will make you feel slapped in the face and laughed at (just wait 'till you see the REAL Ending and you'll see what I mean...I still can't recover f4om the blow).

the good:
+ one of the few original games that are out there for the Wii
+ it's freakin' hilarious and breaks every rule of Nintendo
+ really good controls
+ amazing visual effects

the bad:
- Santa Destroy (the city) is gray and has nothing on it
- the "open world" is not so open
- too linear

SCORE: 8.8

Super Smash Bros. Brawl- the so awaited game finally came. This was actually my number 1 on the list. And for those of you who rant about this game being "Melee 1.1" please shut the **** up. What the hell were you expecting then? "What's not broken leave it as it is" that's what Nintendo did adding tons and tons of gameing history in the process. You'll take at least three months to get everything in the "Challenges" section. Believe Me. P.S. I think this game shoould have been called "Super Nintendo Collection"

the good:
+ it has everything about Nintendo, and when I say everything I mean EVERYTHING.
+ it keeps the gameplay of Melee and adds brilliantly desgined new levels (I just LOVE Pirate Ship) and the new "Final Smash"
+ Orgasmic soundtrack
+ you can play with the GC control :D
+ will now become the standard multiplayer in parties

the bad:
- it has some really useless stuff (why the heck do I wan't to know which game Nintendo made for the Virtual Boy?), yes I'm looking at you "Chronicles"!
- shitty Wii controls

SCORE: 9.3

Games that Will Rock 2008 #4: Ninja Gaiden II

Release Date: 2008

Consoles: X360

Publisher: Team Ninja

Why it will Rock: Ninjas!!

What an evolution Ninja Gaiden has had since it first appeared: when it appeared for the NES it was a common, fun and reeeeeally hard game...In 2004 a game called Ninja Gaiden appeared for the Xbox, it was, in two words: fun and violent...so violent...Now, Ninja Gaiden II is going to fill our screens with gore and ninja madness.

Locations in the other Gaiden were fantasy, but now some new places have been revealed ranging from a city much like Venice, Italy, Japan, and even New York. The official web page also promises a new health system with semi-permanent damage restored at save points, improved iterations of previous weapons as well as new ones, a 30-hour-long story mode, and a new installment of the Master Ninja tournament.

The game is now far more gruesome, bloodier, and gorier than the last installment, as several screen-shots show Ryu not only decapitating his unfortunate foes but cutting off their arms and legs and even ripping their bodies apart as well. The effect is not a mere aesthetic choice as dismemberment will handicap or immobilize an enemy, but not necessarily kill him. Combat in effect will be more strategic as players will have to further exploit the respective enemies' weak points and be more cautious.

The list so far:

Games that Will Rock 2008 #5: Silent Hill V

Release Date: 2008

Consoles: PS3, X360

Publisher: Konami

Why it will Rock: Silent Hill is back!

The official announcement of Silent Hill V named the protagonist as Alex Shepherd, a war veteran who returns home from an overseas tour of duty to find that his father, and later his younger brother, Joshua, have disappeared, and his mother has gone into catatonia (syndrome of psychic and motoric disturbances). Alex begins to search for his brother, leading him to Silent Hill after searching his hometown of Shepherd's Glen, where he will have to traverse real world areas covered in fog, and also the "Otherworld" version of the same maps (Metroid Prime 2: Echoes comes into my mind...). The game play will feature real time wounds that show up on both Alex and his enemies. New fighting techniques will be offered as way for Alex to deal with enemies, including grappling and evasive maneuvers. Enemies will have upgraded artificial intelligence, adding new ways to attack or avoid enemies. The game engine used allows all this, and also incorporates realistic physics. Some of the grossest enemies in the game include the nurses (the always kind nurses ) and a new androgynous creature called "Siam", as well as "Schism", a humanoid with a massive, bladed head split down the middle, and "Smog", an emaciated corpse covered in boils who spews poisonous gas. The developers are planning to create multiple endings based on the way players do things in the game. Acts of aggression, kindness and interactions with other people met in the game will impact how it ends. Will the UFO's ending return??? That was so weird...

Games that will Rock 2008 #6: Devil May Cry 4

Release Date: February 5, 2008

Platform: PS3, X360

Publisher: Capcom

Why it Will Rock: Demonic Crazyness!!!

Devil May Cry belongs to my top three franchises from Capcom (the others being Resident Evil and Viewtiful Joe), mainly because of its total crazyness about making sweet badass combos (throwing an enemy into the ground, jump on it and use it as a skateboard while you shoot the other bad guys is a thing you don't see in every videogame) and its care-free character Dante.

The style in each DMC game is amazing (well, except in DMC 2, that is game is somewhat lame) and DMC 4 doesn't gets behind.

This time however, you don't control Dante, but Nero (although Dante will make some appearances and will be playable in some missions). He wields a revolver named Blue Rose and a decorated single-edged sword called the Red Queen. Nero views Dante as a villain after witnessing Dante murdering members of the Order.

Red Queen is based on the swords used by the Order of the Sword, and Nero has upgraded his to make it much stronger. When Nero twists the motorcycle-like handgrip, a propellant is released which adds to the force of the sword's impact. Blue Rose's over-and-under double barrel allow it to fire two shots at once, and is strong enough to penetrate armor. The Order normally looks down on guns as dishonorable, and only Nero uses one. His arm's "Devil Bringer" power adds a third element of gameplay (in addition to guns and swords), allowing Nero to grab distant enemies, pull them in to be attacked, push them away, slam them into the ground, as well as allowing him to zoom across areas at certain points. Also, it has context-sensitive uses in certain battles, for example spinning enemies overhead.

It should be noted that the game will start a little less difficult compare to DMC 3 but it will soon end up being as hard as its predeccessor...remember Heaven or Hell?

A fresh franchise like Devil May Cry is really appreciating, especially because all the "comboing" you cand in it, personally I feel refreshed after playing a DMC because you are free to kick the ass of everyone the way you like and even better: the programmers have said that this game will have even more attacks, weapons, cutscenes than the other three games COMBINED :D.

And um...I present to you Gloria!! (wanna go and vomit):

Games that Will Rock 2008 #7: No More Heroes

,

Release date: January 22 2008

Consoles: Wii

Publisher: Ubisoft

Why it will Rock: Free-roaming world, Wii-remote controls, Because I hope it rocks:D

First of all, this is the first post of this new year, so I would like to wish you a great 2008.
Well, for starters, as you have seen, I'm really thrilled about this game, mainly because of it's style and because it's a really promising entry for the poor Wii.

No More Heroes was made by Suda Goichi, the one behind the cult game Killer 7, the game is not a sequel to it, but an all-new game running on a new engine. Though the two games have stylistic similarities, Suda has said that while Killer 7 focused on political issues, No More Heroes focuses on social ones.

Travis Touchdown is a stereotypical otaku who lives in poverty in the city of Santa Destroy. After winning a beam katana in an internet auction he agrees to assassinate a hitman, Helter Skelter, which earns him rank 11 by the UAA (United States Assassin Association) , the governing body of assassins. For the rest of the game the player lives Travis' life, earning money and climbing the ranks of the UAA, eventually discovering secrets of his past.

The main characters include Travis and Sylvia Christel, who is the one in charge of setting up mathces fot the UAA; Doctor Naomi who designs and sells weapons for Tarvis and Thunder Ryu, a former professional wrestler who teaches Travis wrestling techniques (yeah, Suda is very fond of the mexican culture, yay for us ).

Throughout the game, the player controls the character Travis Touchdown. The game has a free roaming world, allowing Travis to move around on foot or on his motorcycle, the "Schpel Tiger". Game play is open-ended, with the concession that the player must kill the top ten assassins for the storyline to progress. There are numerous part time job side quests to earn money and gain additional weapons. The player also levels up through experience points.

Control is handled through the Wii Remote and Nunchuk attachment, with the Remote controlling the katana beam and the Nunchuk moving Travis. Most attacks are performed using the "A" button, with certain other moves, including finishing strikes and sword lock breaks, executed by following on-screen instructions. Further, since the sword runs on batteries, the player has to shake the remote from time to time to recharge it. While the sword does not follow the exact position of the remote, it is able to distinguish between different height levels and the angle of attacks. Successful execution of these moves provide additional chances for attacks. Travis has also been shown demonstrating professional wrestling maneuvers to subdue opponents, including an array of suplexes, done by manipulating both the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

The only let-down of the game are the poorly thought names...ok Travis Touchdown sounds really weird but badass at the same time, but...Helter Skelter?? WTF is that??. Santa Destroy?? Kudos for the one responsible for those names...
