Mirror's Edge

I was totally drooling when i've first seen few videos from console version and couldn't wait for the real thing to hit the PC segment. And now when it did, i can give some quick description of one of the best games i've ever played.
First, the game is not really as short as some say. Sure it's not a long runner like Tomb Raider 3 that i played for weeks, but it's still not too short. Besides, even if some will think of it as a short game, it's sweet as honey. Gameplay is nothing we've ever seen, graphics are bright and colorful (well mostly white shade but hey
Only thing that i really hated in this game is a crap ass PhysX by NVIDIA (TM) (C) and god knows what else mark behind it.
I'm a Radeon user obviously, but this is just outrageous. Glass in non-PhysX version shatters but it just dissapears even before it hits the ground. Games before year 2000 could render glass that falls on the ground but Mirror's Edge in 2009 can't!?!?!? I advise everyone to try Red Faction, a game from 2001. Observe shattered windows in this game and decide then if this crappy NVIDIA gimmick is justifiable.
What they did is that they robbed normal non-PhysX version of all the physics effects and made them exclusive to PhysX platform (even though nearly all of them could be in non-PhysX version easily). Shame on you NVIDIA, shame on you. PhysX is intentionally completelly unoptimized for CPU so it runs totally crappy even on places where even CPU could calculate hundreds of objects with ease. It's like on that cargo ship where i kicked the truck door and whole game started to run ultra slow just because game was obviously calculating physics of two!(yes two!) truck doors swinging wide open.
I mean if this isn't the greatest WTF i've ever seen, i don't know what else worse i could think off.
I was really a great fan of Geforce cards because they served me well in all these years but i could never think of NVIDIA going this low.
Ok, now to end this whining PhysX part, i have another good thing to say about Mirror's Edge.
Along with the game you also get second disc. Yes, 2 dics in Mirror's Edge package. DVD with a game and CD with Still Alive soundtrack and its remixes. It's not much but then again, it's a nice gift that many will appreciate. I know i did. It's really a nice gift.
So for the final word, no matter how much you hate EA (i know there is a lot of EA haters), this game is really wonderful and well worth the money. DICE did an excellent job and i can only advise all the gamers to support them by buying the game. Now i'm waiting for Tomb Raider to have two gameplay modes, one with 3rd person view like we're already used to and one with first person view like in Mirror's Edge.
