Here it is, a Windows Media Player plugin for Opera. A fully automatic installer so anyone can use it.
Binaries used are the same as the ones found in Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox.
Using this plugin should fix most of the issues with Windows Media Player playback inside Opera.

But why does it register as "Microsoft® Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin" in Opera:Plugins ?

It's a "hack". But it works perfectly

But why not change the text to "Microsoft® Windows Media Player Opera Plugin" or something, or would that be respectless or considered stealing to awsome people like you who can actually make stuff like this (I would also like to thank you for the REG file for fixing my Vista folders
But I do have a suggestion for improvement. In the original Firefox plugin it would only innstall properly for Firefox while we had to find the files in a seperate folder and copy them to Opera manually. I assume you know this since you made the Opera version and all, but why not have an option in the innstaller to select the plugin-folder manually so it would be nicer to all other browsers out there.
I still cant understand why Microsoft dosent just make a new plugin for other browsers then IE, since they have basically admitted their own dosent work anymore. I remember when WMP 11 was released and the Tech support on Microsofts forums tried to tell everyone that the plugin worked perfectly well on their versions of Opera and Firefox.
Then the Firefox plugin was released and is now linked in Microsofts own webpages. Or in other words Microsoft admits thet theyr customer-support lied to us, but are still not gonna do anything about it except make link hidden in their webpages to the unofficial plugin for their own product.
(this post became longer then I expected

This was by design in case if your Opera installation is broken or if you're using Opera Portable which doesn't use registry entries.
So basically you just have to select the Plugins folder of some other browser and install it. The plugin is "cross browser" so it will work on ANY browser as long as we're talking about Windows based browsers. I haven't tested it, but i see no reason why it shouldn't work.
However i'm not sure i can change the name string of the plugin. It's hardcoded into plugin itself. And since i don't want to hack someone elses work i'll just leave it as it is. The most important thing is that WMV and WMA media can be played inside browsers with it. I don't really care about the name
