Win32:Induc - New concept file infector
Sunday, 23. August 2009, 17:08:32
Lately numerous users have reported that avast! has a false positive detection on various programs.
However if the detection name is "Win32:Induc", that is quite unlikely. The concept is very different compared to standard file infectors. I'm not going to write in detail as ALWIL Software analysts have already published a nice document about it. I suggest everyone to read it and be careful not to disable avast! just because it's detecting something in a program you expect it to be clean. Because it seems developers will from now on have to inspect their own compiled files more thoroughly before releasing them to the public.
