eax, auzentech, asus, forte

So, i'm ditching the ASUS Xonar Essence STX. It was nice while it last, but it just doesn't work right anymore. Today i've ordered Auzentech X-Fi Forte. It's a X-Fi based sound card with typical high quality Auzentech components. So i'm expecting a lot from it. But for now all i want is normal operation without BSOD's.
I kinda understand the girls now (i hope i'm not turning into one lol) why they like shopping so much.
I feel like a small kid waiting for yet another piece of hardware to arrive. It's totally addictive.
But i hope i'll be able to shake this off for some time after i solve the sound card problem.
Enough spending for now...

It appears my pre-release testing process wasn't thorough enough.
However thanks to few users i've retested the problematic part and came to conclusion that Windows Vista is blocking my tool from parsing file info (in this case, existance of the file) even though it's run with admin rights.
Probably related to UAC...
It works in the Windows folder root level (Windows folder) but not anywhere below (like System32 folder).
What's new in version 1.1?- verbose error reporting (although i hope there won't be any errors)
- redesigned status page in the end (removed the status info)

I've made this tool to solve some of OpenAL issues. OpenAL is an open audio subsystem that has replaced old DirectSound (starting with Windows Vista). Most of new games use it to utilize hardware accelerated sound and special effects like EAX Advanced HD.
But when things go wrong, it's usually because of either very old OpenAL libraries, corrupted OpenAL files or something similar. This tool deletes old files, automatically downloads latest OpenAL installer and executes it. It should be easy enough for anyone to at least try to solve sound related problems without extensive help from tech support or the geeks around
Oh and don't forget to update your audio drivers if you haven't already!
Situations where this tool might help:- no sound in games
- sound is skipping or has bad delay
- cannot enable Hardware Acceleration in games
- cannot enable EAX audio effects
- when games crash with error "OpenAL32.dll cannot be found" or something similar
