Watch higher quality Youtube videos

, ,

Are you sick and tired of crappy quality Youtube videos? Well there is a neat trick for that.
Unfortunatelly until someone finds a way how to use it all the time or until someone creates lets say Firefox extension for it, you have to enter it manually.
How you say? It's simple. Just append "&fmt=18" to any Youtube video and hit enter to reload the URL.

Sample image above shows a very noticeable difference.
If anyone knows how to append those few characters automatically to Youtube videos (only!), please post it here.
If you have some skills with Firefox extensions and you could write extension for this tweak, it would be also very cool. Until then, we'll just do it by hand hehe ;D

EDIT (10.11.2008):
Someone replyed below with this link:

It's an user javascript file that automatically adds the above string to every YouTube video automatically.
You need GreaseMonkey to install the script in Firefox. The script was made by Joe Simmons.
Thanks a lot man!

There is also this alternative with some more features if anyone wants more features:

The sample above had no option for high quality mode, yet this tweak enabled it... though i had videos where there was no visible difference.

Awesome  Just one more thing. Do you have any idea how to also enable this on embeded Youtube videos? It doesn't seem to work on those even if you add the domain where they are embeded.
If you can add this too, it would be very cool.
