Samsung S720, photo, Chauvet Hotel, photography ...

This is a picture I took just weeks after I bought my first (real) camera ever:

This picture was taken in apartment 3A of the newly renovated Chauvet Hotel, July 2007. I was using a Samsung S720 digital camera which I bought for around 100 bucks (it's now worth less).

optimization settings, depth of field, camera settings, photos ...

I'm kind of partial to this one. Funny thing, though: I was packing my camera away after taking numerous photos, and was thinking of where I wanted to take photos next, when this Magnolia Tree snuck up on me & bit me in the rear! (I almost bumped my head on this very branch when I stood up)

Mom Turns 90!

Over the weekend, I went to visit my Mom in El Dorado Hills (located in the Sierra foothills between Sacramento, CA and South Lake Tahoe) for her 90th Birthday!!! That means she was born in 1918. I understand things have changed somewhat since then... (it also gave me my first chance to try out my new Nikon D40 dSLR camera)
