That's it. Shame them into working out!

ZAP Newsletter

, , , ...

NOTE: I just updated one of the links in the message, this is actually about a year old.

I've been a very busy busy boy, getting up to speed with two versions of Drupal (5.7 & 6.2) at ZapWorld, and moving to new digs in Santa Rosa. I redid most of the front page at zapworld.com (among many other things), but I just finished the April (May?) newsletter, which allowed me to indulge my more (but not most) creative side. I did pretty much everything in a text editor (for those CSS purists, it should be noted that few, if any, email clients display divs correctly, so I had to do my layout with tables), but I also did the two prominant banners, for the header (pictured below, with a link to the full page) and the Zapino, an electric scooter modeled on the ever-stylish Vespa. For the header banner, I even used one of the photos I took last summer in Glen Ellen (as one or two of my dedicated reader will surely recall...).

What for?

Stop? Ain't no road; ain't no train a-comin'...

and also, here's a cropped version of a photo on 365. I think it's much better, but some people are freaks about EXIF data

Phun with Fotochop, Part Deux

, , ,

Here are some grapevines taken at the foot of Sonoma Mountain. I absentmindedly left the ISO set to 1600 (I took some pictures of the moon the previous night). And through the magick of Fotochop, I came out with a photo that doesn't look entirely like crap.

Before:

Voila!

Ta daaaah!

Also, I've started a new album in the 365 photo group. Let's see if I can keep this up!

How'd you like this hanging from your ceiling?

It's STILL not news...

...but if you absolutely MUST post about Elliot Spitzer, this would be an appropriate forum:

Bad VR

, , , ...

First: I was a Bad Blogger, because I had no idea what I wanted to do when some unsuspecting sucker offered me a free forum for my deranged musings...

Second: Some entirely irresponsible adult offered me a megapixel digital camera for less than I would spend in a day on heroin & Ramen noodles, and I became a Bad Photographer...

Finally: I acquire an utter lack of facility in developing javascript applications, and now I am announcing my latest reinvention of myself in creating...

Bad Virtual Reality!!!

Take a looksee, and see what happens when you allow people like me to have access to computers!

(believe it or not, it was actually much worse until I did a little cropping to remove... well...

something like this (yes, that is a car materializing out of a fold in the space-time continuum(sp?))...)

New Photo Album

, , ,

Hey-- three weeks of this stuff & it's lookin' like I'm getting the hang of it. I may have to change the title of my photo page from Bad Photographer to Barely Adequate Photographer.

The set I just added is called Reflections n Stuff; the title was probably inspired by the poetry of popular pop singer Jewel.

Also, I'm gradually adding to another album, Artsy Fartsy, which is mostly me playing with filters in Photoshop. Keep Posted for Updates!

:hat:
