My message in a bottle

Sculpture by the Sea

,

Maybe you remember this post?

I made that one as some sort of a prank, but failed to inform you exactly where I saw the photographed scene.

Well, the explanation comes now:

The Danish crown prince, Frederik - that is the king to be - is married with a woman, Mary, who comes from Tasmania, Australia. Therefore certain bonds have developed between the nations of Australia and Denmark. Last year the crown prince and his future queen saw an exhibition near Sydney called "Sculpture by the Sea". The pair of them liked what they saw to the extend that they began working to get the exhibition to Denmark.

And right now it's here. I've walked the piece of coastline where all the pieces of art are placed. They all connect to the sea in some way or another, so since I am indeed enjoying the sea at all occasions, I thought this would be something right for me.

So it was. I loved it.

Wonderful job the Crown Prince and Princess did bringing this to Denmark! Cheers to your wonderful land ... wine

der Wandersmann 19. June 2009, 15:12

Good grief, Allan! It looks like a wonderful show, but the vid keeps rebuffering ... it's really almost impossible to watch. Is it any better on YouTube?

Allan 19. June 2009, 15:29

Thanks, all.

Martin - let's make an appointment...

Wandersmann, it is Youtube. Try again later - the servers are sometimes slow.

Darko 19. June 2009, 17:09

This is real fun

Martin K 19. June 2009, 18:14

Well, Allan, this time I have to disappoint you. I already have an appointment. We're due to view the exebition at about 9.00 in the morning this Sunday. I suppose you are sensible enough to still be in the facility of your home at that time of day.

Kimberly 19. June 2009, 19:41

will watch when i can get to a pc

so interesting!

Allan 20. June 2009, 07:05

Thanks for the interest in this. I wish you could all come.

@Martin - I am ever so sensible

Edward Piercy 20. June 2009, 20:16

I guess they just anchored that 8-ball in the water, yeah?

studio41 21. June 2009, 04:47

I wish so too

Allan 21. June 2009, 07:39

I guess that's just what they did, Edward. And it was a blast looking at the kayak-people swarming around it to figure that out. And to me they looked just like they were desperately looking for the cue stick.

Jill, better hurry. The exhibition is soon over.

Martin K 21. June 2009, 18:55

I went to see the exebition today. It was quite interesting. In fact I think I will bring some pictures on my weblog as soon as I get them out of my camera.

Allan 21. June 2009, 19:17

Lookin' forward to that

And, i saw where your idea for the post "Dig it" comes from :D

Allan 23. June 2009, 21:58

Good :D
