My message in a bottle

Now I am an orphan

Just one small note for those who might be interested.

Tonight, half an hour ago, my little, old mother died peacefully at the hospital after having suffered illness for some time.

I am actually relieved, since I know she's better taken care of now than we could ever hope to be able to.

This existence of ours is as transient as autumn clouds. To watch the birth and death of beings is like looking at the movements of a dance. A lifetime is a flash of lightning in the sky. Rushing by,like a torrent down a steep mountain.

Jeg kondolerer.

She's in good hands, Kamerad. I'll have my folks look her up and they'll go to the Oscar Davidsen's, in København, O.S. (Other Side) for Smörrebröd. My mom always wanted to go, and your mom can translate for her.

Allan 4. August 2009, 20:39

Thank you, Star, Nicolas, Wandersman and Martin.

Buddha is right, you know. But there's always more to it than meets the eye. Maybe they even have smörrebroed in Heaven?

Darko 4. August 2009, 21:55

My condolences Allan.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Death comes as a shock even though it has been expected. All you can do is to believe that she has gone to better place, and that you one will day meet her again

Why not? I can think of no sensible reason.

I am so sad to hear.
My condolences Allan.
Not long ago we talked about our old folks. Your mom and my dad.
U remember ?
Now I sit here, having flashbacks. Remembering your mom so clearly.
Long time ago it is, when we were youngsters and often sat in your room, listenning to music and stuff.
Ah well. Yes, You have now become an orphan.
And Your dear mother is together with Your father again.
A lot of positive thoughts goes Your way right now.
See ya soon.

Léazz 5. August 2009, 00:32

Richard 5. August 2009, 01:38

My deepest sympathies and condolences, Allan. She is in a better place now for sure! My thoughts are with you, for losing a parent is a hard loss for those left behind.

My condolences Allan.

I'm confident they have smørrebrød in heaven. I am also pretty sure they have good coffee. My own mother went to Heaven in 2004, and she was the biggest 'coffee sister', as we call them in Denmark, I have ever met.

Norfrid 5. August 2009, 07:24

Kondolerer, Allan. Hun var nok i tankene dine da du skrev det fine og sanne diktet om at vi tar med oss alt vi har gitt når vi dør.
Ta vare på deg selv.

Allan, my sympathy to you and your family.

der Wandersmann 5. August 2009, 13:55

I'm certain that there is good food and drink on the other side of the Veil ... if they didn't, my mom would have come back.

Das ist der schlimmster, aber wir mußt nicht vergessen was Mama möchtet.
I lost mine in '89. She was German - she never saw the Berlin wall come down.

Allan 5. August 2009, 20:40

Oh, thank you - every single one of you.

Now I am in a state where I can concentrate a bit about being online again. The death of a close relative always takes time to deal with - and I am sure there is more in store for me still.

Ana 5. August 2009, 21:39

Tak, Anita.

Det er jovt med sprog, ikke? Når det skal være noget følelsesmæssigt, så vil vi helst bruge vores modersmål.

I'm so sorry to hear that.
