Take The Load Off

Nice to come by a device in the city that isn't meant to break any speed record.
In fact it wasn't only nice; it was very funny to see people in haste running along the walls in the hunt for money, fame and success totally ignoring this thing just standing there as a reminder of what life is also about.
I wonder if anybody but me saw this as a call for doing what is necessary? I sat down. Smiled for myself. Stood up, took a photo and sat down again.
I must admit that this low-tech gadget saved my day.
Wonder if it's still there?

Martin, you have such things in your flat? And two of them? Sounds like a good idea to me
Pam, after painting and clothing, would you leave it in the street?
PainterWoman # 14. October 2009, 12:41
That's a nice thought though to leave it in the street.

I'm only making a little joke, but since this is your passion, what do you think? Does the absence of human beings in a photo make it more reflective for the human looking at the photo?

I can photograph a chair without having to ask - and it will look the same even if I should ask. People will start posing if they accept to be photographed - and then it will all become boring. That goes for most people.
Besides - I don't do art. I make pictures.

I can understand the people-posing-is-boring stuff. I love it when I can get a truly candid shot -- not one where the subject is holding himself in his most attractive state, or as is the case with my Asian friends, making a "peace" sign (I now understand this to also mean, "It's OK to take my picture.") Always the same facial expression... ugh.
Every time I get a new camera, I have to turn turn the audio beep off and make the flash manual, just so I have a chance of getting an honest pic.

The reupholstering would be a good investment of time and materials, I think.
