Art can be found everywhere

Art can be found in commercials, too. I am normally not very fond of advertising - I tend to think that what I should buy really ought to be of an inner need. Don´t need others to tell me what I need!

Sometimes, though, an advert or a commercial movie comes up, that I cannot help myself from falling completely for. This Honda commercial is beautiful - the sound, the pictures, the colours, the mood. Absolutely fantastic - whatever the word art means, this must be part of it.

Check it out - I don´t think you´ll regret it.

Rare Sports

, ,

I like rare sports.

I can sit an entire evening watching Eurosport featuring some odd sport - just trying to figure out the rules. I simply find that amusing.

I have been practising some quite rare sports myself in my lifetime. I once participated in a boat race - only the boats should all be made of bathtubs.

I have, however, never been a champion in any sport. I have always been the "happy amateur".

Today I realised that I have been participating in a quite common sport for the last 26 years. All that time I have been wearing a beard of some sort - and all that time there has been an annual "World Beard and Moustache Championship". Looking at the pictures from that I must admit that I have remained an amateur in this field, too.

Actually I have been wearing a moustache for so long time that it´s been in fashion twice - and I have promised myself to keep it as long as it takes to experince my moustache in fashion for the third time. I have the feeling this will happen before any of you realise! That´s endurance for you wink

Computer Archaeology - goodies for the geek

Anybody remember how we thought about computers in, say 1971?

Well, here´s a book on the subject written and published that year. It´s a very easily read book - maybe it´s more like a pamflet, come to think of it. I like that sort of archaeology - if you´re interested too, you can click on the cover to read the thing.

Islam Online

National Danish Broadcast has just launched a new website: Islam Online.

The site is dedicated to being a knowledge ressource about Islam - the second largest religion in Denmark.

Take a look, if you wish. I suppose people outside of Denmark might learn a thing or two also.
